Two boxes...one under hood near battery, one under dash usually on left side. If fuses aren't labeled, use a test light and check them all. It only takes a few minutes.

As I said in your last question, there are very few reasons you need to go near it. A good auto electrician with a professional grade scan tool computer can diagnose the ECM for faults in about 20 to 30 minutes. It is not a job for 'let's try changing this'. If it is bad, a new one needs a tech to install as it has to be programmed with the VIN Number and mileage and set up.

I've found that whenever I need advise, or answers to any questions with my vehicles, I look for the forum for that vehicle. 99.9% of the time the folks in the forums give you honest answers..... I even subscribe to a few YouTube Channels, like the one for my 93 Cherokee. That guy is not only smart when it comes to 1990s-2000s Jeep Cherokee's/XJs, he's always doing some sort of repair or modification to one of his Cherokee's or Grand Cherokee's..... you could just check the fuses... no need for a book, at all
check them. if some are blown then they need to be replaced
or the short found.
ignition switch most likely. new ones come with a pin insalled to keep it locked. put new stitch on with pin installed key off. tighten screws then remove pin
