This should be returned to the rebuilder as it should be still covered under your warranty.  Impossible to tell the location of the leak without observation.

99 Grand Marquis. Wont move in drive but all the other gears work fine. Noticed a large oil spot in my drive way so i added 4 quarts of fluid and still nothing. What could the problem be ?

You don't mention mileage, but a 99 model, plus no forward gear plus evidence of a large leak = don't add fluid until you have located leak.

Sorry to inform you of this, but chances are if you have a large trans fluid leak AND no forward gear, your transmission is DOA. You probably unwittingly drove it without enough fluid for many miles and it overheated fatally. A large leak is a VERY uncommon occurrence unless there has been fluid pan damage, like from hitting a rock or something else on the road, or a fluid cooler line has broken or come loose.

I have a 64 ford thunderbird . When I bought it , the guy said the transmission had been rebuilt recently. When I took ownership of it, driving just a few miles , it stop going in drive. It will only go...

You are using F-Type Trans fluid, right? Otherwise it would not shift as firm as it should.
Or It could be a crack in the cast iron body leaking fluid. When it was rebuilt did they check for that? The valve body has check balls that can stick if the wrong fluid is used or the channel is worn.

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy XL with 150,000+ miles and an automatic transmission. Starting this week, the engin began to rev very high as it transitioned from 1st to 2nd gear. it's very sluggish. Once I get it...

Sure sounds like a slipping transmission to me. When is the last time you changed the transmission fluid? Before you go dumping $2,600 for a new transmission, I'd do a transmission fluid change first. If you do change the fluid, use Dextron 6, it's GM's new transmission fluid, much better than the fluid you have now. Not to scare you, but my transmission went out at about 100k miles, so you're doing good if it hasn't been rebuilt yet.

I have a rebuilt 1992 Mercedes 190e transmission, but now the transmission feels like it's slipping when I hit the accelerator. Do I need to change the transmission fluid? How long does transmission last?...

Maybe not necessarily change the fluid, but check to see if the fluid level is up to spec on the stick. Many times it will just be the fluid level that makes the transmission slip. After checking the fluid level, check under the car to see if you have a leak somewhere because you just may be able to tighten the transmission housing yourself. Generally what happens is that when a major component of the drive train is rebuilt, the gaskets and sealers need to be seated, and after a couple of heat cycles, the gaskets expand and contract, leaving a slight leak in the housing. So maybe try to tighten the bell housing on your transmission. Good luck!!

'97 Ford Escort leaking auto transmission fluid.

The front seal could be replaced, and not have a problem. If you have a shop other than a transmission shop do the repairs, make sure the torque converter hub is inspected to make certain its not scratched/scorn. If the trans shifts properly and the fluid is not burned or smells burned, this would be an easy repair. If the trans fluid smells burned, and hasn't been serviced regularly, the rebuild would be the way to go. Also, ask what the warranty for any and all repair are on your vehicle. Normal warranty is 1yr, 12.000 miles in the automotive business.

I have a hole in my transmission and it is leaking

Did you drive and burn out the transmission, or did you quickly stop and shut down, just loseing all the tranny fluid?. If its not wiped out, you can probably just buy anew pan, gasket , and fluid to fix it. You doing it approx $125. A rebuilt transmisiion approx $2000
