Check for faulty safety neutral switch at transmission, it usually works back-up lights too. Check & clean connector first & try, may be just bad connection. Little stubby switch, screws into transmission, with wires to it. Check autozone or PeP boys they can confirm it works back-up lights too.

You may have a faulty/shorted reverse light switch. The back-up lights come on when you put the shift lever in reverse. The shift lever linkage contacts this switch. No reverse lights

every vehicle is from factory either with one or two reversing lights. Check the tail of your car for a white cluster light unit and when car is not running just turn the ignition on position and put the reverse and go back of the vehicle and see. If you have a white reversing light unit but not working the you have to go on the gear box and check for the reverse switch.Possible not working. Just remove it and on the end which goes in the gear box has a roller ball, just put in a small can some clean petrol and put it in and with your hand push the roller ball in and out just to clean from some dirt might got in and stopped it working.

Truck cuts off when put in reverse

If your reverse lights have a short, then putting it into reverse could drain too much current.
Try disconnecting the reverse lights at the transmission switch.

When I put my truck in reverse the reverse lights dont work

There is a reverse light switch in your gearshift on some cars/trucks that can go bad..
I would check the light bulbs, then the wiring back to your reverse lights, check to see if you have a fuse that could of blown for your model truck, then think about replacing your reverse switch.

My reverse lights dont work put new bulbs in but still dont work

you might have a reverse switch fault check on the box to see if it is connecting to the gear leaver when you put it in reverse..if not then that will have to be replaced, it might be the plunger in the switch broken or worn away..hope this helps

Reverse lights flash on/off when car is put into reverse; Mercedes 98 E320. Also the rear center brake light does not work at all. All of the bulbs have been checked/replaced so they are not the issue.

REVERSE LIGHT PROBLEM COULD BE LOOSE WIRES OR FAULTY TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR.THE REAR CENTER BRAKE LIGHT COULD HAVE FAULTY BULB SOCKET OR GROUND WIRE AND THE CONTROL MODULE THAT CONTROLS IT CIRCUIT.

2005 Pathfinder no reverse lights

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced
