This is defanitly your problem car has amp in trunk factory you have to hook your remote (blue white stripe) up to the power accessory wire wich will only come on when your key is turned back so use a light tester on wires to see which wire is not hot until key is on one power wire will stay on constantly dont use constant it will run the battery dead
The antenna mast is extended and retracted with a flexible strip of plastic cable with teeth. The antenna motor turns a gear which drives the cable in (mast down) or out (mast up). These cables do break. You can buy a whole new power antenna assembly or just the plastic cable. Replacing the cable isn't hard, just tricky-- getting the cable to coil up properly inside the antenna assembly can be a pain. You probably can grab the antenna and extend it manually, but you may not be able to push it back in.
Red is for constant power, yellow is for ignition power, blue is for an electric antenna, black is ground. The others are for the speakers. - 2blue, 2green, 2purples, 2whites. If you don't have an electric antenna , don't use the wire. Also if you extra wires for the vehicle this is common. don't use them. Hope this helps. Randy
You could have a mechanical problem. Incorrect valve timing could cause low vacuum. Because I don't know what kind of Olds you have or what engine it has it's difficult to tell you what could be wrong.
It is on the driver side on the motor below the intake manifold. It is a difficult job to replace unless you know what you are doing. I hear there is a way to do it under the car with like 4 foot of flexible extensions, but know it would be difficult. Usually I take off the intake. Make sure you keep track of the multiple connectors and vacuum lines and tubing.
If it's on rear, remove panel in trunk & spare tire, to get access, and remove all nuts/bolts, electrical connector & antennae cable, & reverse for re-install. Once your in there it will be fairly obvious.
