Replaced a Xenon bulb on my 2004 Saab 9-3, still doesn't work...
I've replaced a Xenon HID bulb on my 2004 Saab 9-3 and it still doesn't work. I didn't think the old bulb looked bad, but I replaced it anyway, thinking I just couldn't tell that it was bad. Now I'm thinking it's a relay, but I don't want to keep buying things until it works and the dealer wanted $280 for just one bulb...where I found it online for $70. Retards!

Im assuming that you have check the fuses for the headlights and they are good.If your headlight is HID(Hight Intenstiy Discharge Xenon bulb) The headlight assembly will have a balast that might be defective.Deferentiating the Halogen from HID.Halogen will have a yellowish color when you turn on the headlights whereas the HID will have a whitesh to bluesh in color. If your clk320 does have a halogen then its highly probable you have an electrical problem but if its HID then you might want to replace the balast.
The current draw is going to almost double, from 4.5 amps to 8.3,I wouldn't be so worried of the wiring ,it will handle the increase as I would of the your relays as this is where the increased draw is going to have the most affect.Generally all electrical componenets are designed to handle 33% over what they are rated at,they will work but this will shorten the lifespan of your relays by as much as 50%.
How do I replace the left Xenon low beam bulb on my 2007 9-3 4dr 2.0 turbo SAAB?. The battery box , fuse box and windshield washer resivour practically a **** upto the back of the bulb area.
Do I have to remove the entire headlight assembly? if so will that ruin the auto light adjustment for the lowbeam.
if that is for one bulb, that's crazy. you can get them much cheaper online. it's not difficult to replace the bulb yourself. the bulbs ususally cost roughly $117 USD each. If the dealer is suggesting they will change the bulbs for both, it's a deal to have them replaced for less than $250 USD. I won't lie, it's a pain in the ****.
