Fan clutch wires cut.. what colours go to what on an 2004 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins

26257369-zcdpbucemf3wpt03nxn2ad3r-1-0.jpg this should be what you are needing.
the fan clutch being connected back stock is critical to the air conditioning system as well.. if the fan clutch doesnt work properly, the ac compressor will self destruct. mine did 3 times before i discovered my clutch was bad. if you have to replace the clutch, spend the extra money and buy the clutch from the dealer. i originally bought one from a very reputable aftermarket parts dealer that i have never had an issue with parts purchased from them, and then later ended up buying one from the dealer. the ac compressor is ok to buy from any good retailer, but from what i have heard the fan clutches for the diesels(viscous clutch) as well as the ones for the gassers are best bought from the dealer..

The clutch was taken off and replaced with a electric fan

The electric fan should be fine, presuming it has a thermal sensor that turns it on at the correct time. I think the clutch fan has more ability to move air, but as long as you do not overheat, both systems should work.

1989 GMC running hot have replaced radiator, thermostat, water pump,Temp sensor, intake taken off ports cleaned out. No air pockets, what am I missing

I had a 1987 oldmobile that had that problem. It turned out that the fan clutch thermostat had gone bad and would not engage when the engine heated up. The fan clutch was part of the fan. I replaced it and solved the problem.

Need a diagram on replacing a radiator on 99 bmw 528i

1. remove clutch fan. Left hand thread on the nut. Need special holding tool, google up bmw fan removal tool, you'll see what I mean.
2) fan/clutch and shroud come out as one.
3) remove hoses, overflow bottle, and hidden hose leading to the overflow bottle.
4) watch out for the two rubber discs holding the radiator in to make it "float" in place.

After that it's simple mechanics, it lifts out through the top, although if you jack up the car high enough it's possible to take it out via the bottom. Passenger side drain plug on the bottom of the radiator, it's blue btw. The transmission cooler and power steering cooler is attached to the condenser, shouldn't have to mess with it.

All said, if you've taken more than 35 minutes to remove the radiator, you're doing something seriously wrong. Hardes part for newbies is the fan clutch nut.

How to remove the clutch fan on a 2004 dodge ram

autozone usually has a fan clutch loaner tool set, however in a pinch a strap wrench can hold the pulley and then you have room to fit a decent size crescent wrench. In a hurry you can use an air hammer on an edge (of the nut) going counterclockwise, they also make a neat tool that does basically the same thing, might take a few tries but you will get it.

High mileage 1996 Ford Explorer v8 overheats at 75-80 mph

if your mechanic seen no leaks from hoses or thermostat housing its sounds that either your fan clutch or your thermostat is bad. if its heats will driving streets and not highway its your fan clutch and needs to be replaced. if it overheats in streets and highway its your thermostat and needs to be replaced, you will need a thermostat and gasket with some silicone. Drain, follow the radiator hose to the housing and take 3 bolt off, clean housing well,CAREFULLY install the t-stat exactly the way is was taken out (pic), gasket, sillicone, bolt. ecc3d0c.jpg   its an easy job. Good luck!
