If carbureted, look down into carb & move throttle linkage...see if you have fuel squirting into throat. If not accelerator pump in carb is bad.Or there is no fuel reaching carb. (Ill assume for now that you checked and have spark at plugs, right?)
Does choke close when cold? Did this happen after warm up (before no start at all happened) You have to do some testing ...I can't see it from here!!! Post back if during tests you find anything strange or that need explanation.

OK... TB injection....V6? Check the temp also serves as a cold start sensor, causing mixture to richen up when cold (sort of what the carb stuff I started with does, but electronically) other fuel related items to check are mixture control solenoid and tps. You can run diagnostics on this without a scan tool by jumping certain terminals on the disgnostics plug under dash. Get a manual to identify terminals and code meanings.
Sorry about the carb stuff, got my years and engines mixed up. Don't forget ignition system...has to have spark to go!!!

1997 jeep cherokee just started while wife was driving it kicked into passing gear and you have to rev high to get it to shift then once in high gear if you press on gas to much it kicks back into passing...

well disconnect it, and make sure tranny end is full 100% retracted
now drive, does A/T work good and not kickdown now.
yes, then the cable is bad , rusted ,frayed inside or sticking.
easy test ,huh?
not looking below. for sticking detent rod on tranny , misses the cause.

Starts and runs fine until I fill with gas then will not start with out a lot of gas

Are you overfilling your gas tank? After the self-serve pump automatically kicks off signaling that the tank is full, do you add a bit more to "top it off"? If so, you are preventing the car's EVAP system from working properly.

Car wont start but kicks over

Since you do have A fully charged battery and also you do receive fuel smell after crank start and the car wont start, either you do have an Ignition fault means not giving the spark, advice remove the spark plugs and check whether are wet with fuel, see whether are black,if so change them and before start check by leaving an HT lead off a spark and use one of the old ones connected to the HT lead and earthed to the engine, ask somebody to start the engine checking for any spark comes out. If yes then put the HT lead back to the new spark on the engine and try. If ther is not any spark, then you have to go backwards from the HT leads to distributor,Rotor Arm,Electronic igniter,Coil if is fitted,Fuse and relay. Good Luck.

When trying to put gas in my car, the gas kicks back like it's full but it is not full i don't understand why we can't put fuel in the tank

Your car has a EPA mandated fuel vapor recovery system as part of the fuel tank filler device, this is malfunctioning and is blocking air from being vented while filling which causes the fuel to kick off. You must see the dealer to have this diagnosed. This may be covered under an extended warranty for emission system components.

There is a gas smell on our 92 voyager. The leak appears to be from the tank. Now it won't start and battery is drained. Why won't it start?

I had a leaky gas hose at the rear of the tank near the top. The rubber had just finally worn out. Once the leak is fixed and gas added back to the car, it will take several tries to start it because of air and the fuel pump has to get gas pumped back up. Recharge the battery, turn key over and listen for pump to kick in. Pump the pedal once, then try to start it. Don't over pump the gas pedal or you will flood the motor.

My gas tank is significantly leaking only when almost full.

it could be that it has or is getting air in the tank in the form of vapors i know that it may seem unlikely but it does happen so next time that you go to fill up try opening up the tank cap while you go pay let ventilate and when you put the nozzle in do not shove it all the way in just enough for the vapor guard to cover the mouth and use the control of flow method.

Try turning you key on but do not crank it do you here the fuel pump kick on . if not sure try it again and tap the fuel tank with a rubber mallet or hammer. if it starts now you pump is going out ,your gauge ,flote is built to the fuel pump also.
