2002 BMW 530i -My a/c quit working and wont come on at all, even the fan only. The rear windows also stopped working but the front windows work fine. Could this be a fuse? if so, how do i determine...

hi

locate your fuse panels for your model and when you open the lid/panel it will have symbols to id each fuse like a door window for a window fuse

it will also have the amp range 5 amp or 10 amp or more for that fuse etc

look at the panel symbols and compare them to the fuse amp range from the bottom to the top so you can match the symbols to the right fuse amp

each fuse has two tips slightly extending from the top of the fuse top so you can use a light tester to test the top and the bottom of the fuse, both sides most light up, if only one side lights check that fuse

some fuses only come on when the accessories is turned on, so they might not work until the accessories is turned on

anyway check any fuses that dont light up and if broken replace them

there are also fuses under the bonnet of some cars so dont forget to check there too

cheers

My 1999 DeVille Concours A/C and heater fans don't come on.

open hood, look in main fuse box for blown fuses,or bad relays to heater fans. the a/c fan should come on only when you turn a/c on at the dash panel only. it has nothing to do with the heat. if the heater blower fans don't come on, then look in the main box[fuse] for a blown fuse also. otherwise the problem is in the heater control module.[where you turn on a/c and the heat] that panel has a different fuse location.under the dash drivers side or on panel on drivers door at the door jam[where the door shuts towards the front of car, under mirror, but inside] look for fuse panel there also for blown fuse. hope this helps, but if not, recommend you seek a pro.such as cadillac

I had the ac on and all of a sudden the fan stopped and hasn't worked since heat defrost nor ac what could this mean

I have a few ideas that could possibly help.Under the hood there is a box with control fuses inside.Open this and look for a burned fuse. Also check control relays.Check interior fuses. The owner manual will have a description that matches your problem fuse or relay.Write back and let me know if this fixed it.If not I can further assist you with more things to check.

A pulled fuse panel for a 2003 Jeep Liberty, there are 39 fuses inside a vehicle. I need to know what these fuses are and what they go to.

The fuse box diagram is a sticker placed on the inside of the fuse box cover. This cover is located on the left end of the instrument panel (driver side). The sticker just uses numbers to indicate the fuses. I will match the fuse number with its purpose:
1. Power Outlet, Front
2. Rear Fog Lights
3. Horns
4. Headlight, Low Beam, Right
5. Headlight, Low Beam, Left
6. Body Control Module / Power Door Locks
7. Spare
8. Spare
9. Right Park Light / Right Tail Light / Trailer Tow Lights / Cluster
10. Spare
11. Flasher
12. Stop Lights
13. Body Control Module / CMTC / Cluster
14. Spare
15. PDC Fuel Pump and Auto Shut Down Relays / SKIS
16. Power Outlet Rear
17. Rear Wiper
18. Radio Choke

I am trying to translate the symbols on the inside of my fuse box panel. Does anyone know where I can find a legend?

ALL SYMBOLS ARE UNIVERSAL ON THE FUSE COVER, SO WILL MATCH THOSE FROM OTHER CARS IF YOU ARE JUST LOOKING FOR A BLOWN FUSE THEN GET A MULTIMETER WITH A CONTINUITY TEST AND USE THIS TO TEST THE FUSES, IF NOT GET A MANUAL FROM HAYNES OR CHILTONS, OR DESCRIBE WHAT FUSE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR,

Cruise control quit working. Is there a fuse somewhere that I can check. None of the fuse box locations have a cruise control label

Bad relay. They are to the right of the fuses (fuses inside the car). You can see the relays if you open the cover to the fuses (they are big blue cubes), but will need to remove a few screws to remove the panel to get to them. I can't remember which one it is, it might make a clicking noise when you try and turn on the cruise. Or you can swap "matching relays - compare diagram on top" and see what else stop working. I had to replace several, my dash when out, my cruise, and I think one is the fan that blows your ac and heat.
