Re: The glass of our sunroof broke. How do we replace
Hey broken glass in the sunroof is not as big of a deal as you might think. The glass is available from Lexus & concidering where it is coming from it isn't that expensive. When you get the new piece of glass you'll see how it is bolted on. You simply rmove the trim around the glass mount with a flat pry bar & undo the mounting bolts, noting the alignment shims befor you remove the old glass mounts & be sure to put them back in where they come from. Take you time & pay close attention to those things & you will be able to change it with out an issue!
P.S.; you may also be able to find the glass from a local auto wreckers for a fraction of the dealer price.
Good Luck Hope this helps.

Thats a hard one. I currently build and have installed sunroofs for 20yrs. the problem is an electric motor keeps you from moving the glass if there is no power. If power is present and the motor can not move the roof then there is usually a broke component. I have seen were people have tried to break in by pulling up on the glass and this will break the plastic locking mechanism. Dealer will have to get replacement parts to repair. Should be under warranty. Hope this sends you in the right direction.
The sunshade clips are probably broken. Need to remove the glass panel. Note the position of the panel the frt and the rear. If not properly reinstalled you might get wind noise. Once you have the panel removed unscrew the clips from the sunshade. Carefully remove the shade and install the new clips.
no you should not have to take the head liner out.. when the sunroof is open you should see 3 or 4 screws one both sides.. all you have to do is remove the screws but its better to have a second person so they can hold the glass while your removing the screws so you don't drop the glass..then just put on some cloth gloves(prefered) to hold up and install the new glass. do removal in reverse to install.
