Question about 1991 Volkswagen Fox

1 Answer

Need to know what gear ratio I have

I have a 92 Buick LeSabre Custom 3800 Series 3.8 Litre V-6
tuned port inj. Auto lock up front wheel drive 4 spd with over drive
It has a 4T60-E transmission but I don't know if it is a 2.84 or 3.06 ratio.
How do I know? The pull-a-part store tells me 2 different part numbers and I don't find them anywhere on the old transmission. My VIN number is 1G4HP53L2NH478622. Any clues there? There are no numbers in the glove box, under the hood, on the driver door, or in the trunk.

I actually called a Buick Dealer parts dept. and the man was really nice and helpful. Seems that there is a simple way to know- they can tell by the vin #. Mine was a 2.84 gear ratio. He will also cross ref. one that I want to pull to see if it is compat. with mine. Learn something new every day! He put the vin in his computer and it spit it out! Pull a Part was not able to do that.

I need to know the drive cycle 4 the 98 lesabre

If you mean the firing order of the 3800 Series II V6 engine, it is 1-6-5-4-3-2. The numbers are usually stamped on the coil packs and care should be taken when running plug wires that the number on the coil pack lead goes the the corresponding cylinder number. Cylinder locations on the engine are as follows: Standing with the hood open on the passenger side of car facing the front of the engine (end where sertentine drive belt is located) The left bank is 2-4-6 front to rear, and the right bank is 1-3-5 front to rear of engine.

Please vote if this helped! Thanks, Mike

94 buick lesabre 3800 auto. misses and sputters at idle and in gear. new plugs, wires, good coils, injectors test good. driver side back hole is only 90 psi comp. the rest at 120psi. do i need a valve job...

Try some Lucas fuel treatment, with a less fuel as possible so it can work better,it will be stronger,it will clean the injectors, and it will help if carbon is on the valves,it will burn it off the valves. Also check the fuel pump pressure.

4 wheel drive power button

Unless your rocky was custom or rebuild, the four wheel drive on the 90-92 rocky is not auto engage. it is manual. you have to use the four wheel gear shifter located left of the main gear shifter.
