I am going to say 'blown turbo'. As I understand it, they needs replacing every few years. They are susceptible to heat and incredible revolutions. They have to be lubricated, the seals go, and you get smoke.
all AUDI/VW use 5/40 full synthetic when new,but in Europe, use 10/40 semi for 10k oil changes and 5/40 for 20k services.the computer onboard, when set correctly, will give you the change intervals.these are set by the supplying dealer when new,and only by putting on the (VW) diagnostic computer, will it give these intervals. otherwise your just guessing....(most new cars for the USA market are set to "extended"servicing regime,so use 5/40 full).
It depends. If you have a turbo engine like the 2.7T, or the 4.2 V8, you should be running a quality synthetic oil like Mobil1. If you have a V6, you're OK running conventional oil (I use Valvoline conventional, 5W30, in my 99 A4 with a 30v 2.8 V6).
Oil is cheaper than metal.Turbo motors run a lot hotter than non-turbo motors and need more frequent oil changes.1st thing to do would be get the oil changed with a good quality oil and also do the filter.Hope this helps
Hi my name is mike ! on your vehicle the change oil light has to be reset by a scanner with european software ,it will have to be done at a shop ,most every audi that we work on at the shop I work at has to be done this way ,hope this has helped you !
oil type is either 5W-30W or 10W-30W depending how cold your climate is, as far as having the car properly taken care of, the Audi dealer is the best option, they have all the proper tools and service info needed to keep the car in top running condition.
