The best and easiest, and Probably the cheapest way is to find an old beat up 82-89 f150 that is 4x4 usually can be found cheap without motor or lots of body damage, reason for this is that you will need to buy a front end differential, as well as the driveline and transfercase, different transmission and possibly a shorter rear driveline, but if you buy the beat up non running 4x4 you can simply put your body and motor on the 4x4 frame and be done, I have done several this way and works very well, also much faster, easier and cheaper....

Have you checked the fuel filter? Sometimes if the catalytic converter is plugged up the engine will not run. In some cases the material in the converter can break loose and plug up your exhaust pipe or the muffler. This happened to my sister-in-laws car years ago which was a Ford Fiesta. 85 psi does seem a little low, but it should still run. Hope this helps, Jeff Horton

No. AOD trans from 1985 is hydraulic shift. You need to hook up the Throttle valve cable from the drivers side of the trans to the carb. Is this hooked up.

I may need to replace the automatic transmission out of my 1995 mustang GT convertable. I need the factory name or the specs of the tranny so I can look around and be sure I am getting the right...

YOU HAVE A AOD,NOT AN AODE. YOU'RE AOD HAS A MANUAL THROTTLE VALVE CABLE WITH MANUAL OVERDRIVE SELECTIVE BY LINKAGE. AODE HAS ELECTRONIC OVERDRIVE ACTIVATED BT A BUTTON AND MORE INTERNAL ELECTRONICS,THIS ONE WON'T WORK. TRY GETTING A REBUILD ON IT,MAY BE CHEAPER WITH A WARRANTY! GO SOME WHERE RELIABLE THOUGH LIKE DEALER.
