Starter contacts are most likely getting worn out. I waited longer than I should have and had to get it (1996 1.8 DX) towed. If it still starts, you can avoid that. good luck!

My 1996 Toyota Vienta won't turnover with the key in ignition. Plenty of electrical power, air con runs as does the lights. Fitted with an immobilizer, wondered if that might have something to do

Check wiring to your starter make sure all the wires are secure. Its mainly sounds like you need a new starter. If you hear it clicking it is likely engaging just not spinning

Chrysler van won't go forward or revers

Im having the same problem as you. First thing is, If it was a valve popping it would make the noise when started not only when in reverse. Secondly, the vehicle is starting so its not the battery, if it were clicking from the battery it would mean the van wouldnt start and it would be clicking when it tries to turn over.

Won't start, just makes a clicking sound.

The car will not start, just make clicking noise, it can be problem related to weak car battery or faulty starter,When starter gets faulty, it will just make clicking noise,But if battery looses its charge then also same noise will be heard. So first test car battery. It should have 12 volts. If it shows 12 volt, then check the starter and its connections. ------------ For more troubleshooting, click the link below:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/car-troubleshooting-tips.html ----------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Won;t start makes rapid clicking noise

Sounds to be a loose battery terminal or battery wire lead. Verify that the headlights are bright when turned on if so battery is not dead.

Mini Wini on a 1987 Toyota. New battery. Won't start.

Well if you replaced the starter solenoid it sounds like something as simple as a bad battery connection,I would take both battery cables loose and clean them off with something like some 100-150 grit sandpaper or they make a battery and battery wire connection cleaning tool.

When I turn the key in my Sonata,it doesnt start, it makes a fast clicking noise

Sounds like a low battery. Try jumpstarting it. If that fails then it could be the starter or the solenoid on the starter has gone out. You could also have a loose connection, check the battery wires and the heavy wire to the starter from the battery. Make sure there is no white and/or greenish powder around.

Just put a new battery in my 92 buick park ave ultra. i cleaned the cables and the car won't start. I turn the key and it just makes a click sound (one click not continous clicks) the car started fine...

Hello
Trace the battery cables back sounds like something is loose like the ground to the engine or the power cable to the power distribution box
