Ok there are 2 ways to retrieve the key-less entry code. First and easiest way is to carry it to a shop that has a scan tool that can read pid data from the driver's door module .They can pull up that pid and display your code right on the screen.
The second and hardest method is to remove the driver's door panel to access the driver's door module and there will be a tag on it with the 5 digit code.
Yes you can program your own code into it however you must have the original code .Input the original code then hit the number 2 button then put in your own 5 digit code. This code will remain until you disconnect the battery or battery goes dead then it reverts back to the original.
You can also go to this website and download your owners manual for free. Just pick owner guide in the left task bar and input your vehicle information.

95 just to retrieve a code.and he wonders why you don't bring your business to him. It would take him about 2 minutes tops to retrieve it. I could understand 20-30 bucks tops. If you were a new local customer at the dealership I work for we would do it for free just to get your business.

No you do not have to disconnect the battery just input the original code. Disconnecting the battery will reset the other computer strategy's.

Here are the instructions to remove the door panel.

Remove the mirror cover. It just snaps on.

Remove the door handle cup screw cover, screw and door handle and cup.

Release the window control switch plate from the front door trim panel, and disconnect the window regulator switch electrical connectors.Use a shop towel or similar material between the tool and the front door trim panel or damage to the front door trim panel may occur.

Remove the 4 front door trim panel screws and position the front door trim panel aside.Should be 2 at the bottom and 2 on the sides about half way up the panel.

The Driver's door module will be right beside the front speaker. It will have 3 connectors going to it.

I looked to see if we had one in the shop with the door panel off and we do not,I checked to see if we had a new module in stock in the parts dept and we do not. So I called our Ford Field Service Engineer and asked him about it and he said that to his knowledge they quit putting the sticker on the module. He stated that the only way he knew of to get it now was either off of the wallet card that came with the owner information in the glove box or with a scan tool.

Maybe thats why your local dealer is asking $95 he may already know this and knows he is the only game in town.

Sorry about having you take the door panel off.

I cant seem to find my code for my keypad on my mercury 2007 grand marquis

try looking in the owners manual. there may be a sticker on the spare key fob. or a plastic card that looks kind of like a credit card. Perhaps if you are the original owner call the selling dealer and have them look it up in the deal packet.

How do I reset the door lock code on a 93 Mercury Grand Marquis if I don't know the current code. I bought the car from a family and the owner had passed away and they don't know the current code.

There is a master default code that will always work no matter how the personal codes are set. Codes are 5 digits and should be on a card hopefully in the owner's manual packet. If you can't find the card, any Ford dealer can retrieve the master code for you. Even if you knew the previous owner's code, you'll need the master code in order to program a personal code of your own.

Good luck.

I cant find the factory five digit code to reset my keyless door panel. What do i need to do or how can i reset it. This is a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis.

This number is usually inside the trunk jamb. It's printed on a sticker. If you've the owners manual, there's also usually a card with the number on it. If you know your original code and are trying to reset a newer code back to the original, disconnect the battery for 10min. Loss of power will revert key codes back to original factory setting.

Where is sticker with factory 5 digit keyless entry code located on 2001 grand marquis

You should find it on the hinges in the trunklid and sometimes on a hood hinge. They can be in door jams and on door hinges. Your owners manual usually has a plastic card for your wallet.

If no success contact the dealer with your VIN#.
