What does code 52 means on the toyota corolla 2000 model in SA.

The engine runs normal and the engine managementlight only comes on when i drive the car for a few metres. Is it possible that it is the knock cencor. I am not sure if there is a knock cencor fitted on that model

DTC 52 on a 93 Corolla is a Knock Sensor code. I replace the knock sensor; it is located on the side of the engine block, on the side of the engine that faces the firewall. It is in the center; under the intake manifold.

What's your problem?engine managementlight is on

Not sure what car you have, but an engine that runs out of puff like that is being strangled somewhere, like a blocked up air filter, or a faulty coil.

However the check engine light is the key to it. With some cars you can extract a trouble code from the computer which will tell you the area of the fault.

With others you are better off connecting a scan tool to a connector from the car's computer, to find that out.

I can tell you more for Camrys, about 94-95.

Loose power when run over flooding area and noisy, but it comes back to normal after 15-20 seconds

if you mean standing water in the roadway... you are probably driving too fast thru the water and splashing water onto the wires causing the engine to miss. after a few seconds you get lucky and they dry out from the engine heat. new wires plug wires may solve this or just drive slow enough to avoid splashing so much. chibasset

Obd code p0440 for check engine light on 2000 Toyota Corolla

p0440 code means that the evap system has a leak. This could be caused by a bad or improperly installed gas cap. Either that or the purge solenoid has failed or the canister is plugged and not working properly.

Electronic control module: error in code 52

I will be glad toassist you.

DTC 52 on a 93 Corolla indicates a problem with the "Knock Sensor" or its circuitry. This sensor is basically a piezoelectric crystal inside a metal housing, that detects "knock" or "predetonation" in the engine, and transmits that info re the "knock" back to the ECU. Most likely, replacement of the sensor, or a repair of the wiring harness will cure your problem, if you engine is running fine, and not making any strange sounds. I hope this answers your question. If you have any others, please feel free to comment back to me. Have agreat day!
