Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix

99 Grand Prix Heater only works on 5 makes a Loud noise

When turning on the heater it only works on the 5 setting and when it works i makes a loud noise that shakes the dashboard what should we do. also AC does not work could it be the switch resistior or motor or all 3 really stumped please help

Hi there
it sounds to me that you have two problems the
loud noise is the heater motor bushings is worn out causing the loud noise and vibration
also you will have to replace the resistor

once the motor is replace and the resistor replace all should be ok

It sounds like you have an air bubble in the heater core. Try parking front upward on the steepest hill you can find, and run the engine hot, with the heater control on full, for about 5 min. That may shift the bubble out.

i think your heater blower is going bad. just wait till it no longer blows hot/cool air or get it replaced sooner.

It could be you are low on oil;using the wrong oil;a possible loose connecting rod,or,maybe a bad or stuck lifter.

jack up front of car get hold of tyre an see if u get any play if u do u may get away with nipping them up a bit
