Question about 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE CA Value

1 Answer

1998 Bonneville SLE A/C does not blow through dash vents, only defrost and floor vents. Air gets warm as car warms up. Compressor works. My research points to bad vacuum lines on programmer connector. Also, read something about a metal rod that directs air flow, but can't find this. Also, the vacuum tank in front of right front wheel may not be supplying vacuum, but don't know how to check this. (Pull off vacuum line?) Thanks Jerry L

Look on the passengers side of engine there is a vacuum going to the intake manifold on the back side if this is cut or torn the vacuum won't work properly. You have to follow the line to where it has a fuse panel along the firewall there it goes into the vehicle...

I have a 1993 Olds Cutlass Supreme. The Defrost works and it blows air out of the floor vents. It does not blow warm or cold air out of the dash vents???????

the heater control panel possibly bad. the panel where your heater is at. on the dash, actually where you're turning the directiona for floor and dash, or it could have a bad connection on switch behind the panel.have you spilled liquid on dash in the past? if so you may be able to pull the panel and clean it in order for it to work again. hope this helps!!!

AC not cool

Check the a/c lines entering the firewall. Large hose should be cold and small line warm-hot.If o/k, may have vacumm leak to underdash control. If vacumm is lost the system will revert to heat and defrost. Could also be the air blend door is stuck. Maybe something dropped down defrost vent on dash. If this helps Please rate

Defrost blows cold air

Sounds like you have a plenum door that is not opening when you go into defrost mode. You will have to check all your vacuum hoses and switching valves under the dash to see which one is not working. Hope this helps.
