Make sure you press the "on" button on your cruise control first. Then, depress and HOLD the accel button...

Keep paying attention to the road, of course...

RSC service now how do i fix this?

Hello, RSC stands for "roll stability control" a problem has been detected with the anitlock brakes/RSC. The only way to know what has happened is the vehicle must be scanned for trouble code(s). the code will allow the technician to know where the fault lies. it could be a speed sensor, steering sensor or one of many other things. Be advised, until you have repaired and code cleared, the ABS or antilock brakes will not work.It will not affect the running of the vehicle in any way but no ABS/RSC

Anti-Lock Control

Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) with Traction Control and Roll Stability Control (RSC)
The ABS consists of the following components:
The ABS prevents wheel lock-up by monitoring the wheel speed sensors and actuating the valves in the HCU which modulates the brake pressure to the brake calipers. By preventing the wheels from locking up, the driver is able to maintain steering control and stop in the shortest possible distance under most conditions. The traction control system utilizes the same components as the ABS to prevent wheel spin and help maintain vehicle control during acceleration. The roll stability control (RSC) system utilizes the same components as the ABS and the traction control systems and also monitors the steering wheel rotation sensor and the stability control sensor cluster to assist in stabilizing the vehicle during abrupt maneuvers.
How to fix is to take to a qualified repair shop that has tools an knowledge to fix it .

I have a 2004 chevy tahoe and can't figure out how to put it in 4x4 during this bad weather!

Depending on if you have a push button, switch activated, or manual shift type 4x4 system they are generally the same. Transfer in 4x4 high can generally be made at any time that you're not traveling at highway speeds or faster by simply moving/pressing the selector switch/lever/button to the position indicated as 4x4 high. If you are wanting to use 4x4 low this transfer has to be made while the vehicle is stationary, wheels straight, vehicle in neutral and brake depressed. Note that the use of 4x4 low is only recommended for the most extreme driving conditions and should only be operated at low speeds.

How to use cruise control

Here are the steps in using cruise control:

  1. Get on a road you will be traveling at the same speed for a long period of time, such as a freeway.
  2. Reach your desired speed. Choose a speed that allows you to move with the flow of traffic and not go over or under the designated speed limit for that road.
  3. Locate the ON and SET buttons on your steering wheel. Press ON first and SET after. Your cruise control is now activated. Most vehicles must be traveling at least 30 miles per hour to set the cruise control.
  4. Press and hold the SET button if you wish to use cruise control at a higher speed. Hold until your desired speed is reached.
  5. Decrease speed by pressing the COAST button.
  6. Push the brake pedal to disengage the cruise control function. If you wish to return to the previous set speed, use the RES (resume) button. You must be traveling at least 30 miles per hour for this function to resume.
  7. Erase any previous speed by pressing the OFF button.

Use 2 wheels, the other 4wd low ,for climbing at slow speeds: 4wd high, for driving on low traction roads, like mud or snow,at medium speeds: 4wd auto full time all wheel drive, for highway speeds on slippery surfaces, like rain or light snow.

What is the proper way of using overdrive, how and when you have to use it?

If you are not climbing steep hills or towing, leave it on all the time. Turn it off for low speed/high strain driving like towing, climbing and off-roading.

i hope this helps

How do i use cruise control on focus

Hello,
First the vehicle has to be operating at least 35mph. There will be two sets of switches, one set is to the left and the other set is to the right of the horn on the steering wheel. The switches on the left will be labeled on/off, the ones on the right we be labeled Coast/Accel/Resume..

At a steady highway speed press the ON switch, (at the left hand side of the horn) This will activate and turn the speed control system ON...

Then you have to set and adjust your desired speed...

To SET YOUR DESIRED speed , press and hold the accel switch (Right side of Horn) until your desired speed has been reached and then release the switch.. Speed control will now be on, activated and set, you will be in cruise mode..

If you need to coast due to possible traffic, press and hold the coast switch as long as you need to.. This is like taking your foot off of the accelerator pedal.. When you let go of the coast switch you will return to you set cruising speed.

Stepping on the brake pedal at any time will deactivate the system.. If you step on the brake, and then want to return to your previous set cruising speed... All you have to do is press resume...

I hope this has helped you? You can find detailed speed control activation instructions in your 2005 Ford Focus Owners manual.. If you did not receive your owners manual when you bought the vehicle.. You can purchase one at your local Ford, Lincoln or Mercury dealership..

Abs and park brake light came on same time

Its either the speed sensor on the rear differential or your steering wheel is all the way down pinching a wire in the harness. I have had both problems. Raise the steering wheel and if that does not fix it then its the speed sensor(might be called something else) but it is on the rear diff.

What are the functions of Resume &Coast buttons in steering wheel

If set at a specific speed and you have to slow down by hitting the brakes, The brakes turn off the cruise control. Pressing resume automatically turns the cruise control back on and accelerates to the previous speed setting. You can also use it to accelerate and by releasing it the new speed will be set.

Why cruise control won't work on 2003 ford explorer

If you hit "On", cruise control is on. It's just not set to the speed.

To properly set the cruise control, do the following procedure:

  1. Select the "On" button on the left side of the steering wheel
  2. On the right side of the steering wheel, there is a "+" along with "Set", press that button after you have accelerated to the speed you desire to maintain.
  3. Use the "+ and -" to speed up or slow down your vehicle.
  4. To temporarly disable the cruise control, simply press the brake pedal.
  5. To resume the previously desired speed, press the top button "Resume"
