Question about 1994 Chrysler Town & Country

94 Chrysler T&C won't start

I drove my van to the gas station and filled the tank. It wouldn't start after filling. First time with no-start problem. Had to have it towed home. Still no start. Cranks fine but not even a whisp of a start. Gas good (I drained it to use in other car.). Car did display signs that (automatic) trans was slipping out of gear (prior - but only at times) and I had envisioned trans and engine replacement. I'm okay with that, because the vehicle 'fits' me (I'm BIG), but I need to know it will start.

Check that the tank lines are not blocked by debris. Test also the fuel pump.

Check that the tank lines are not blocked by debris, to do this you need to access the hose underneath the car, and eventually use a compressor on lines to unblock them.
Test also the fuel pump(s) often you have a fuel pump near to fuel tank , in case that must also be tested.

When i filled my tank to the top always just drove 1/4 or less from gas station and the van wants shut off ,just at the beginning after this is runing ok ,,but just when i filled the tank .. bytheway

I'm assuming that this was the first and only time is has done this. If so then you may have had something blocking the fuel lines or the pickup in the tank that no is lose. I would monitor this to see if it happens again. if not then great if it does you may have to have someone blow out your lines and clean your tank. another possiblity is the fuel pump is starting to go

Town and Country Van running out of gas and guage says half a tank what could be the problem?

If your fuel gauge is showing you in accurate readings this is normal to all vehicles that are not used to fill-up gas full regularly but sometimes the cause of the inacuracy is due to faulty float valve in the gas tank you need to replace it

I have a 1998 Dodge Caravan. I got a "tune up" approx. 2 weeks ago with new spark plugs, fuel filter & air filter. It did fine driving around town & on a 130 mile trip. I filled up with...

Sounds like you got a tank of bad gas. That would easily cause your issues. Start by draining as much as you can, put a can of Seafoam in there, add a few gallons of fresh gas, drive to the gas station and tank up, and run that tank down until your gas light comes on before adding more. You may end up needing a fuel filter or plugs again, but with minimal run time on the bad gas, you'll probably be fine.

Filled tank with gas and now my van wont run well or even start sometimes

If this happened right after the fill up then perhaps you put in the wrong octane or perhaps deisel... Some gas stations have older tanks which can be filled with water. Change your fuel filter and also confirm that the fuel pump is up to par and not failing.

every vehicle should have one. trace your fuel line. could also be some water in your gas tank. put in some isopropol alcohol / gas line antifreeze to dissapate water.

yep i seen it in happen .i was at a gas station a guy drove car to the gas station on empty.he fill his tank up .could not get it to crank .some cars you have to restart fuel pump when run out of gas. like chrysler.you use a scanner. but chervrolet you run low over heat damage the pump.it has to stay submerge gas to keep it cool. check fuel pump pressure.it should be 41 - 47 psi.

Lite poped on for gas filled it and now wont stay going

You got a tank of bad gas. You need to drain the tank and refill with good gas. If that doesn't resolve issue you need to check fuel pressure to see if the fuel pump gave up on you.

Engine Stall/Stumble after filling the gas tank

POSSIBLY. BUT MORE LIKELY TO BE A VAC LEAC TO THE EVAPROTIVE SYSTEM. CHECK ALL OF THE VENT TUBE UNDER THE VEHICLE, EXPECIALLY AT THE CHARCOAL CANISTER. REPLACE ANY BROKEN LINES AND THEN TRY AGAIN.

Van stalls ocassionally after filling up at gas station. Only happens first 5 miles or so ... I do not top off once the pump shuts off.

maybe the gas cap is faulty - it should be able to vent, but if it does not vent fast enough, a vacuum can be created in the tank that prevents gas from going to the engine.  Try leaving the cap on LOOSE next time after a fill and see if it helps.  If it does, buy a new gas cap.
