Question about 1995 Pontiac Sunfire
After a half hour of driving you turn off the engine, the engine will not start or if it does you will have to pump the gas to keep it going but thats not always successfull.
The check engine light is on but says to replace gas cap. This has been done. If you wait a half hour it will start and run good. You can also get it started right away with starting fluid sprayed in the air cleaner duct.
From the way it sounds you have a fuel pump going out.The fuel pump on your vehicle is located in the gas tank .the gas tank has to be removed from the vehicle to replace the pump.
