I had a simmilar problem with a RAM the throttle body was dirty. You may try cleaning the intake with a good carb spray. This may not have happened to you but my battery had gone dead and when I replaced it my vehicle would not run well (dying out).I clened the intake and it runs fine.A mechanic told me that when a vehicle loses power (battery)the computer resets and if the intake is dirty the fuelwill not flow well therefore causing the computer to send more or less fuel to the throttle body.Although after cleaning it my o2 sensor needed to be cleaned and reset the check engine light

sometimes ypu can buy yourself a little time on purchasing a O2 sensor by cleaning it with a good carberator cleaner.Take o2 sensor out and spray it down well(good sunny day)let it drip dry and you can repeat the process again.let dry, wipe down with a clean cloth.Put the sensor back in ,take battery post off vehicle about 15min

make sure it is a good carb cleaner a cheap one may erode internal parts

When was the last time the fuel filter was chg.? If thats not an issue, best to do a fuel pressure test. If that all chks. out ok than it could be the throutle positing sensor.

Will a bad pick up coil stop a 1999 dodge Durango from cranking

It wouldn't stop the engine from turning over while trying to start. But it can make engine not start or run poorly

2003 Dodge Durango (5.9L V8) won't stay running unless you keep your foot on the gas.

Check temp sensor and TPS, throttle positioning sensor. The power control module,"pcm.is a possible thought.Just check all connections. It is always a good idea to spray WD 40 or equivalent in the connections.

starter?
New battery drained = something is still powered, open/short.
new ign switch and steering won't lock = something was not put together right and the ignition is staying on and draining the battery.

My odometer code no bus and it wont start 1999 dodge durango

Check for a faulty crank sensor. Sounds strange, but we found this out the hard way in the dealerships, many years ago. Following the trouble tree usually lead to pcm replacement, and it still wouldn't run.

After starting my 1999 Dodge Durango, when I take my foot off the gas, the vehicle shuts off. As long as my foot stays on the gas pedal, it stays running.

I had the same problem it was the idle air control valve, I purchased another but problem remained, so clean old one with carb cleaner and steel wool put back on and worked great again.
