How to Connect sparplug wires in the correct fireing order?

The firing order is 1342 Number 1 should be marked on the distributor cap . start from there , notice the direction the rotor turns, next terminal on the caps goes to number 3 cylinder and so on. to find number one if the cap is not marked do the following. remove number 1 spark plug and turn engine over till compression is felt, line up the timing marks on the crank pulley and timing cover. remove the dist. cap the rotor is now pointing to number 1 position on the cap.

How do i find the number one wire loctaion on the distributor of a 2001 honda accord ex. 2.3l v-tech

Here is the diagram showing the number one cylinder location.
If you want to know when #1 is ready to fire remove the spark plug and rotate the engine by hand until you fell pressure in the cylinder with your finger over the hole, then look at the timing mark on the front pulley, move the engine until the mark is at "0" TDC, then remove the distributor and set it down so the rotor points towards the location of # 1 in the diagram below.

Need firing order for 94 gmc 350 pu diagram dist and wires if possible thanks

For GMC 350 the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

The distributor rotor turns clockwise when viewed from above, so the spark plug wires would be installed in the same order as the firing order, beginning with #1.

To find which contact in side the distributor cap that the rotor is "pointing" to, use a ratchet on the center bolt of the crankshaft and turn the engine over by hand (clockwise direction only as viewed from the front of the engine looking towards the firewall) until the timing mark on the harmonic balancer aligns with the "0" mark on the timing cover (may also be indicated by a deep "V" cut into the timing mark indicator attached to the timing cover).

Normally, the rotor will either be "pointing" towards the firewall with a bit more emphasis towards the driver's side cylinder bank, or it will be pointing towards the front of the passenger side front fender. If it is pointing towards the fender, turn the engine over again until the timing marks align and the rotor should be pointing towards the firewall as described above.

Find the closest terminal in the distributor cap that matches the rotor's alignment and install the #1 wire. The distributor cap and then be installed with the remaining wires installed around it clockwise from #1 using the firing order.

Some turning of the distributor may be necessary to get the engine statred. Once it does start, use a timing light to set the timing.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Trying to set timing on 77 chev nova with a v6 the battery keep dying every time i try to crank it.

Looking at the crank shaft pulley, you should see a timing mark on the front gear cover and then there will be marks on the pulley. Line up these marks using a ratchet and socket on the front crankshaft pulley bolt. Next remove the distributor cap and look at the rotor button and determine which spark plug the button is pointing at. Find exactly which engine you have in this car. 1977 novas came with a straight 6 and a v8. If a v6 has been installed you need to know which one as the chevy engines have very different firing orders. You need to know the firing order to check the timing correctly. Be sure the firing order is right before going any further.

Firing order and timing for 292 ford

The firing order is 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2, distributor turns counter-clockwise. The ignition timing can be set using marks on the vibration damper. The wide mark is TDC (Top Dead Center), each mark after the wide mark represents 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 degrees before TDC. Set timing 3 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center). In addition, valve timingis set like this: Intake opens: 12 degrees BTDC
Exhaust Closes: 8 degrees ATDC
