2000 DODGE DURANGO - ENGINE DEAD ALL GAUGES ON ZERO

For nearly two months now my car suddenly goes dead while running. When I switch off the engine and switch on again it runs. This is an off and on thing. However, two days ago, just after having the car tuned up (169,500 km) it went dead again while running and this time I could no longer make it run again even if I switch the engine on and off. All gauges: oil, water, battery and even the petrol tank indicator are all on ZERO.

Also, when I switch the car on and off, I get Codes 0443 & 0753. What do these codes indicate? What could be the problem?

Your reply would be highly appreciated.

Make sure all connections to battery and starter are clean and tight . Also chk. all grounds from engine to frame and boby, sounds to me its loosing a connection on a ground strap, or positive cable.

Why won't my gauges in my dash all of a sudden

This is a common problem amongst Chrysler vehicles in your year range. It's an easy fix, once you take the instrument cluster outside the car and unplug the wiring harness, dead center in the back of the cluster. Tool needed: 25 watt soldering iron. (Do not use a high powered electrician's soldering gun as it will ruin the circuit board.) Take the circuit card off the instrument cluster and flip it over. Note the location of the connector on the other side and touch the soldering iron carefully to each solder joint to re-solder them using the existing solder already on them. Plug it back in and viola, it's good to go!

I have a 2004 Dodge Grand caravan that won't start. (60,000 miles) I hear a clicking noise and my gauges go "crazy" when I turn the key. (Speedometer goes from 0-120 and back to zero when I turn...

Sounds like a classic case of a dead battery. It takes much less energy to sweep the gauges and turn on the lights than it does to crank the engine over. The clicking noise is usually your starter solenoid trying to engage and spin the starter. Try a new battery. Happy motoring.

Good luck.

Runs and stalls, wait for a min and runs again whats the problem?

well i would say if the rpm gauge stay's up and the other's all go down that would be a blown motor.

IF YOU RECENTLY UNHOOKED BATTERY OR HAD DEAD BATTERY THE COMPUTER WILL NEED TO RELEARN IDLE STRATEGY,START VEHICLE KEEP IT RUNNING AND DRIVES ON 2OR 3 MILE RUN SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT IF THIS DOESN,T WORK LOOK FOR VACUUM LEAKS IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR POSSIBLE BAD IDLE AIR CONTROL LOCATED NEAR THROTTLE BODY
