Question about 1987 Ford Mustang

In mazda 323 model 92. after starting rpm increases to 2000 and does not come down.when a,c is on rpm drops to 1000, and when a.c is pff again rpm goes to 2000.carborator is flushed out with spray.air filter also replaced.no problem in driving.

Look for a loose or split air hose coming off the inlet manifold also block off the servo feed temporary in case the diaphragm has split

All the above is normal , except 2000rpm is a little high at idle . can be adjusted down to 1500rpm. the computer adjusts the engine speed . in drive the transmission loads up the engine idle drops to 1000rpm . in park engine unloaded rpm increase all normal.

Three stages with new bolts (a must), 1st 60 pounds, then 70 pounds then final torque is 80 FT Pounds.

Rover 75 v6 starts no problem runs 1000 rpm then


check idle speed sensor on your intake manifold around 700 to 750 rpm is normal ,air temp may efect idle speed .

Idling problem


disconnect the battary for aprox 1 hr this will clear the computor of bugs then reconect drive for about 30mins and problem should be solved .

probably just needs a good tune up new plugs,leads,points the timing set clean oil fuel and air filters and the water leak is probably a perished rubber opening or glass seal or at worst rust holes under the window seals which allows water in but you cant really see where its coming from i hope this helps you even if a little thanks glenn........

HI!mazda 323 1992. the motor in run on drive my foot on the brake a very big vibration. this is my trouble the rpm drop.


you should look into the condition of your spark plugs the may have a very large gap over 1mm
