Hi, ive also had a problem with my remote central locking.
I have a celica GT 1996 import, and the remote keyfob worked for a while, then worked intermittently (i found the chip in the key fob was acting up) so i stopped using it and just use the key... not long after the battery was replaced as everything died on the car.... then the other day i decided to see if the keyfob could be fixed and found nothing happened even with new battery (in keyfob)

does anyone know how to manually reprogram or how to find out the relevant codes to fix. I would go tothe nearest dealer, however I feel they would say theres nothign they could do, just so I have to buy a new one.

    many thanks

Hi, Contact your dealer and get instructions for reprogramming your remotes. When a security system loses power for an extended amount of time the programming for the remotes are lost.

Hello "problem with 1996 Toyota Celica", I have the same problem and all I can get out of the Dealer is that they can reset it for $40. This is not a very fair answer. If you find out how to reset the Security system is a toyota fitted unit P/N 08191-20810 with 2 touch pads... would you be able to let me know and I will do likewise. Thank you

first up have you replaced the battery in the key. next you can get a replacement key from Toyota spares ( around $600.00 Dollars all up) or you can try locksmiths ( around 1/4 price) If you have a working spare MR MINIT can help you.

Changed battery in 1993 Toyota Celica. Alarm goes off and will not allow car to start.

You will have to reset the security system. Call the dealership and they can give you the code. You need your vin# You might have to go there personally. It just depends.

I removed the battery to charge it, put the battery back in the car and it imobilised the car, the key fob won't work so i need to know how to dissconect the imobiliser

you cannot disconnect the need to reprogram the car to the remote.lock the car with the key, making sure all doors are shut, then press and hold unlock button for 30 secs.

I lost my keys for toyota celica 1996 year,i had another 2 keys and but without remote, now when i opening door with keys alarm turns on and after that when i startin engine after 1 minutes alarm turns...

Look under the steering column ,now normally on an after market alarm installation ther should be bunsh on wire tied up with plastic zip-ties --looks like a mess , and in that a mess look for a square relay about 1" sq. Unplug that. That will isolate the alarm system.Good Luck

1996 toyota celica ac not blowing cold. freon is fully charged & ac compressor cluch is on but just warm air comes out the vents

The flap that directs cold air and warm air may be stuck in warm air position. This flap is controlled by a vacuum operated actuator that is attached to the vacuum lines and the control panel. This can go bad. Otherwise check in compressor sight glass to make sure there is no air bubbles or fog, that would indicate a leak in the system
