when your battery need changing like this one did, check if power is flowing through the cables just behind the cable connectors, they burn inside and stop power flow. just replace connecters

When jeep sits overnight, turn the key to start and nothing. put a small charger on it for a minute or so and it cranks over immediately.

Are the cables clean and tight on the battery posts, and do you have full battery power at the starter when it fails to crank ?

2004 jeep grand cherokee wont start at all

Check you battery terminals first. If they look clean clean them again with a wire brush. Then check battery voltage. You should have 12 to 12.5 volts. While cranking (starting engine) your voltage should drop to no more than 9.5 volts. If it does go below 9.5 then get a new battery. If all that checks out, then check for power to the activation wire to you starter. It should be the small wire. If you get no power there while cranking then you have a problem somewhere in the wiring possibly the starter relay. BUT if you do get power there then sorry sounds like you were sold a bunk starter.

2004 Grand Jeep Cherokee: Lost all power on jeep and was told i needed a new battery. After getting new battery and driving car for 1/2 hour I turned car off, and when I restarted, it would not turn-over...

Make sure your battery terminals are Extremely clean and esp. make sure your ground from the battery to the fender wall is connected real well. You would not believe the problems a jeep can give without a really good ground.

Whereis the fuse for the power windows on a 2004

The fuse is located in the Power Distribution Center, this located under the hood, passenger side, right behind the battery. Open the lid and read inside witch fuse is the right one.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee makes a loud ticking noise, won't start.

Your problem is likely a bad battery and/or corrosion on the battery terminals. Remove the cables from the battery terminals and clean them with a wire brush or other tool. NOTE: always remove the negative cable first and reconnect it last. Reconnect the cables and then try to start/jump the vehicle again. If that doesn't clear the problem, take the battery to your local auto parts store or supplier and have them check it. You will probably need a new one.

Battery drain

Check to determine actual volts in battery charge if necessary. Remove & clean battery posts and inside of terminals. Check engine ends of battery wires as well making sure they are clean and tight.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't turn over.

As long as you can jiggle the battery cable and it helps, you have identified a problem in that area. The solution would be if you have side mounts use a small wire bush or old throw away tooth brush with about a cup of water mixed with a table spoon or so of baking soda, and clean all the corrosion off the terminal connectors.( The part that connects to the battery ) If post, clean the inside of the post connector by using a battery terminal cleaning tool sold at the parts store for a couple of dollars. As long as your terminals are dirty or lose the alternator cannot get the electrical charge to the battery and your battery will go dead and or get very Durr! Ruhh! low. Oh yea after it gets dark and you turn your lights on with the battery terminals lose or corroded to the point they don't let the alternator charge your battery, the battery will use all the stored voltage very quickly and the lights will get dim and when you stop your engine will turn off and probably want start back up with out a boost from a good sumaritan.even though the battery and the alternator are like new.

Check the wire harness between the drivers door and the "A" pillar.
They often break.

Wont start

I had a similar problem with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It turned out that the battery posts and cables were corroded. I cleaned them up and it solved the problem immediately. Something to check on before you spend the money on a new battery anyway!
