Running rough, spitting fuel out of tail pipe, lots of blue smoke

1995 chevy s-10 blazer 2 wheel drive with 4.3 vortec .It ran fine until a few days ago i noticed it was kind of jerking when i started it up, so i drove it to work and it ran ok at 55 or 60 mph but when i sat idle it would be rough. Now i take it to my father in laws so i could get his opinion (it uses over 6-7 gallons of fuel the 16 mile drive to his house and i usually get 17-20 miles per gallon) and seen that it had been leaking gas so bad it was all over passenger side of exhaust manifold and frame,he said it could be a bad spark plugs so i changed them. didnt fix the problem. The suv has 160xxx miles and has always had the oil changed on a regular basis and proper maintnance. What else could be wrong with my suv. All advice and opinions appreciated.

Also the temp does not run hot and oil pressure gauge is normal.Does not stall when stopped just idles and kind of shakes or rumbles whole car.

Also i checked coolant and it is full none in oil either.

havnt got that far yet. but it is leaking massive amounts of gas through the exhaust pipe. almost like all the cylinders on the passenger side are dumping raw gas into exhaust.i How much money am i going to have to spend to take it into a shop and get it diagnosed and fixed.I dont want to spend a whole lot it would be easier to just go buy a different car.

csmock132 thanks for input, i removed the intake and inspected the lines coming in and tubes delivering fuel to each cylinder they were all in good shape so i had my wife turn the key and seen that it was coming out of the fuel pressure reg. i have replaced it and have it all back together and it will start fine without dumping massive amounts of fuel but it is backfiring and still kind of idles rough. any ideas?

It could have a fuel leak inside the intake. These are good for fuel lines in the intake leaking. To test for this the only thing you can do is take off the upper intake and then turn on the key. If it has a leak you will see it with the intake off. Check the two big lines going to the injector and the small pintle lines, especially the ones on the drivers side. They tend to rub holes in the two big lines. Also check the vacuum hole in the fuel pressure regulator. No has should come out. Also while you have the intake off, pull off the EGR valve and check to see if it has a chunk of carbon stuck in it holding the valve open. These are all common problems.

Check for vac leaks, there is a vac line on the back near the distributor that is easy to miss. Also check the gasket for the upper intake for leaks. Did you check the EGR? Also recheck the firing order if you took the wires off. 1-6-5-4-3-2

What are the symptoms and differences between vapor lock and flooding. 1995 Chevy Silverado 1500 2 wheel drive extended cab short bed

Vapor lock only happens when the vehicle is hot. Flooding at start up, you smell gas. If it is over fueling threw the carb/throttle, then you will see lots of black smoke out of the tail pipe when running.

Our fuel pump stopped working on our 98 Chevy Blazer V6 4.3L Vortec Engine, so we bought a new one. A couple days later (before replacing the fuel pump) it started up and ran but ran crappy. So we did

what did you do (replace it) if you still have a miss you may need to tune it up / make sure the fuel pump you bought is for the right psi for your blazer

I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer S10. Two Wheel drive, 4.6 Vortec V6/Automatic Trans. Here is my question, and it should be a fun one. Cause I sure know i'm about fed up with it. Going to work one day my Blazer...

first get it to crank, replace part of the fuel line with a clear plastic one, and install a fuel guage, fuel pressure shoud stay steady and no air bubbles should be visible, if all is good have a real time scanner installed to monitor sensors and actuators, good luck

Try disconnecting the alternator for a few minutes.
It can run on just the battery that long.
It is possible the new alternator is producing too many spikes that disrupt the car's electronics.
