Thanks for the advice. I tried jump starting my battery which didnt work. Then I tapped the the starter with a hammer while my friend cranked it. That didn't work either. Finally we hooked a wire up directly from the battery to the solenoid. With the key turned on, that started the car. I guess theres a bad connection between the IGN and the solenoid. I dont know how im gona fix it but i know i aint takin it to a mechanic. Guess i'll be poppin the hood every time i start my car lol. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Well first off battery tester to see if it has the cranking amps to start if it has over 400 CCA
its good to start lights are not enough . Then
Q how old is your stater ? If its old maybe worn out
or stuck solenoid Take a pole or long screw driver
ask a friend to crank while you tap with a hamer
and that pole on the starter housing see if it starts
if that don't work try jumping the starter with a remote starter switch . If the starter does turn
its something else .. Maybe a bad IGN switch in column , good luck ..

This is most likely a dead starter.

Battery wont jump start

possible but my money is on a bad battery. have a load test done on the battery. I suspect that the over heating problem is not completely fixed as water pumps will still pump water as long as they can be turned . Probably all that was done was to tighten the drive belt . Unless the pump seal was worn out and you were loosing coolant.. Clicking noise when trying to start is bad connection or dead battery.

Make sure that the Shifter is in neutral or park. If that doesn't help, check the fuse and relay indicated for you started in the fues panel.

Car wont start has clicking noise in front when try to start car.Car was running fine turned car off , come back out it was started , was backing out on little grade and diedcar was about out of gas fuel...

Is the clicking noise coming from the starter? If this is the case, the battery may be weak or discharged. Try to recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

The low on gas problem can be rectified by adding gasoline to the tank, a few gallons, at least.

If it makes no noise when you try to start it but the lights, radio, etc. all work, replace the starter.

91 camry wont start fuse problem?..the car is great running cond.

Probably the battery. The battery may have enough voltage for the lights to work; however, this may not be enough voltage to start the car.

Find someone with cables to give you a jump start. Then take the car by an auto parts place and have them load test your battery. Most stores do this at no charge.

My 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix won't start. The lights/battery is working. I can hear the fuel pump ingaging. I've checked the fuses & they seem to be fine. I'm use to looking at manuals that aren't so...

Either the battery is bad or the connections to the battery are corroded and/or loose. The lights may work but that doesn't mean the battery is good. The lights only draw about 20 amperes, the starter draws from 200 to 400 amperes.

If the battery connections are tight and clean, then most likely you need a new battery. A car battery store can test this for you.
