As long as the car runs well. And is not leaking coolant or overheating.I would be willing to bet that your heater control valve is no good.if u have and skills. open the car hood when its warmed up. turn the heat on and let the car run intill warm and then shut it off for safety.then find the 2 hoses that go to the fire wall.or inside the car.ok.if 1 hose is hot and one is cold .then check the control valve.or the heater core could be clogged. but the 2003 envoy is to new to have a clogged heater core.

The thermostat is probably the culprit.....take it to your local garage and let them test the opening temp....

If your settings are correct and the engine is warm, it will be the thermostat.

One other it could be is a cylinder head Gasket. More than likely its your settings or thermostat

2003 Envoy XL Rythmic tapping noise coming from right rear fender well area. starts tapping when you turn on the ignition (motor warm) and will last for about 90 seconds then stop

That is one of the mode actuators for the rear HVAC system, it is probably on its way out. Below is a diagram of the system, with actuators highlighted.

2004 envoy sounds as if it has no oil. no oil lights are on though. where should the oil pressure gauge be ? the need is in the middle. It sounds as if it is riding hard. I remember a car I had that...

The Envoy's oil pressure gauge is not showing actual oil pressure, the computer calculates the reading based on engine RPM and the on or off signal from the oil pressure switch. You need to first check the oil level on the dipstick, than have a mechanic put a manual oil pressure gauge on the engine to read the actual oil pressure.

Clutch fan

I would suggest getting a second opinion. But without mentioning it. Some cars have systems that decrease power to cylinders to prevent overheating. It is possible to still do damage even if your not overheating.
