Question about 2008 Hyundai Accent

Repost RE: 2009 Hyundai Acent Airbags

For business purposes I removed the passenger seat from my 2009 Hyundai accent. The AIRBAG light on the console is now lit. Have I disabled the entire system?
Would cutting the plugs away from the seat and reattaching the seat-halfs of the plugs back into their respective car-halfs, fool the system into thinking that the seat is there, but no one is sitting in it?

The passenger side airbag is off on my 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe... how do I turn it back on ?

There is no "switch" the passenger airbag (referred to as a smart airbag system) is controlled by a weight sensing sensor in the seat cushion, the airbag is disabled anytime that something less than about 50 pounds is placed on the seat cushion. If you put items on the seat under that weight like a bag of groceries for instance it can confuse the system and turn off the passenger airbag. What you need to do now is contact your local dealer and make an appt. to have the system scanned to see what the problem is that is keeping the passenger side airbag disabled. Good Luck.

Disable airbag airbagmodulhave a 2006 lincoln towncar, passenger seat has been removed, airbag light now stays on,how do i bypass the seat occupancy sensor

Its a weight sensitive sensor, so you would probably have to come up with some sort of resistor. I doubt you can bypass it.

Is there any way to disable the passenger side airbag (in the dashboard) in a 2009 impala? If so, does anyone know how? The owners manual does not seem to cover the topic, so I am guessing the answer is...

The Airbag is automatically disabled if the occupant is under 50 pounds in the passenger seat, there is an electronic scale in the seat, this is called a "SMART OR ADAPTIVE" Airbag system, so no need to worry about children in the seat be injured that are under 50 pounds. There is no safe way to disable the system without turning off all the Airbags in the SRS system. Please rate my help for Fixya, it is the only thing I ask for my 35 years of automotive expertise.

How do i switch off the passenger airbag in my hyundai getz

I WOULD NEED TO RESEARCH THE ACCENT A LITTLE MORE BUT MOST NEWER VEHICLES NOW HAVE A WEIGHT ACTIVATED SWITCH IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT TO PROVIDE UNWANTED DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WHEN NO ONE WAS SITTING IN IT USUALLY AROUND SEVENTY POUNDS TO ACTIVATE OTHERWORDS YOU DO NOT WANT TO DISABLE DUE TO LIABILTY ISSUES

Hyundai Getz - Passanger airbag or not...

If it says "airbag" on the stering wheel AND on the dash in front of the passenger, then it has a passengers side airbag.
Children are much safer in the back seat in the event of a collision.

Need to Install A Passenger Airbag in Hyundai Accent 2002

on the 2002 Accent we have, the area is clearly identified w/the "cutout" area and marked SRS Airbag...perhaps look at Hyundai.com at the owners' manual online, or look at used cars/junk yards to compare dash panels to yours...would think it VERY difficult for avg person to perform this task
