your should be a quarter to half of the engine easy way there is a senor that goes into it. Try an aftermaket cat you would be able to found it in ebay. Factory cat will run to much money, and also if there is only a performance cat that is perfectly fine to put in.

fuel pump sounds to be problem, though I'd replace air cleaner first to rule it out cheaper than pump (pump may have internal filters that are blocked)

OK so I've had my celica VVTI 140 (W plate) for some time now and have so far (due to crossed wires with my hubby about checking oil) had to have a newer engine fitted, I think this one is about 6 yrs...

Running a gas tank lower than 1/4 level is one of the worst things you can do, since gas acts as a coolant for the fuel pump that is in your gas tank. In addition, if the gas is a dirty as you say, the cumulative deposits have become a sediment in the bottom of the tank and at low levels is no longer suspended in a volume of liquid-which will clog the 'sock' around the base of the pump, and can even clog your fuel filter. I suspect your fuel system will need a good going over-have the fuel pressure checked (simple procedure) and take it from there-good luck

Toyota Celica 140 vvti 2002 Engine starts normaally but as soon as full temperature is reached the engine cuts out; it can be restarted but revs must be kept to about 3000 or above or engine stalls.

Two things I would check. first I would pull the Idle air control motor off and clean it and make sure it is working properly put lube on it i necessary. Next would be the engine coolant sensor. But I think the first will take care of your problem The IAC motor is mounted on the throttle body.

Car idles perfectly but as soon as you accelerate to about 3000 revs it starts to die. have replaced fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs

The catalytic converter may be clogged which chokes out the engine when it cannot release the exhaust pressure.

When starting, engine will rev up to 3000 rpm then will die. but you can keep it running if you keep it revved up above 3000 rpm

Things to look for: Could be your intake manifold gasket, throttle position sensor, vacuum hoses, throttle body gasket, idle screw, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, or maybe you have a split in your gas tank or fuel line(s) that is messing with your fuel pressure. See if you smell gas back near the driver's side rear wheel.

Good luck, those are things I would search for, I can't promise anything, could be a number of things. You should have a check engine light on.

My wife has had an issue with her 06 dodge caravan that once she puts gas in and goes to take off it stalls and looses power. When I try to rev my engine all it does is go to 3000 RPM and then it sputters...

Greetings, assuming the fuel tank was contaminated enough to cause the fuel filter to become partially obstructed, it would not be good advice to install Techron fuel treatment or any other fuel treatment after installing a new fuel filter as doing so would could very well contaminate the new filter and / or new fuel pump. The vehicle in question has an engine rev limiter while the transmission is in park or neutral so the 2600 - 3000 and sputter are normal which is the rev limiter kicking in. There is not enough information in the complaint to determine if a new fuel filter and fuel pump are justified or not. Personally, I would inspect the plus (+) power lead to the fuel pump first with a volt meter to see if you are getting at least 12.7 volts and if you are, then remove the fuel filter from the fuel tank and inspect before purchasing a new filter. I would test the fuel pump for correct pressure if I found the fuel filter to be fairly clean and correct voltage to the pump. It is not good advice to buy parts before you know what the true problem is.

Change all the filters (fuel and air). check and see if all your spark plugs are firing or just change them. if it is fuel injected make sure your injectors are working. Hope something there helps get it running good.
