I am trying to remove the window that's in the sliding side door of a 2002 Chevrolet Astro cargo van. I think that when you buy a new replacement window the rubber seal is already glued to the glass and then all you have to do is put a bead of glue around the seal that is already on the new glass and put the new glass in place on the door and secure until dried. I'm trying to remove `glass from a door that came off of a wrecked van and reinstall it on my van. I need to find out how to remove the glass and seal from the old door with minimal damage to the seal so it can be reused.
Ok first thing first if you can spend roughly 80.00 I would call a mobile glass company or look for a van that does glass. They will do it and they can take the old one out and replace it within an hour/ the reason I say this is they need a chemical to bit into the your door and urethane it in now think of this 80.00 for glass guy or 10.00 for the chemical for bite one tube of caulk 30.00 plus your time and its pretty valuable and the professional put in hands down is the thing. You will appreciate this that i am teeling you.Hopefully you thought of that.I know you can do it just the but thing. if you need any more info go to collisionrepairadvice.com ok jmdf
