SOURCE: 1982 6.2 glow plugs will not turn off

This sounds to me like you may have a Glow Plug Controller issue. If the glow plugs come on and cycle but do not shut off the Control Module may be faulty, my suggestion would be to replace the Controller ( if you haven't already tried that) and possibly replace your glow plugs as well. Hope this helps.

1983 Chevy Silverado, Glow plug light will not come on, Truck will turn over but not start, fuse panel has no blown fuses, I suspect the Glow Plug Relat but I don't know how to verify it is bad.

With most relays, you have 4 wires. One is power to the component the relay controls, one is a ground to the relay magnet, one is power to the magnet, and the fourth goes to the component, in this case the glow plugs. The ground usually comes from the computer.
With the key on you should have power to two terminals and you would jumper the hot terminal to the glow plug terminal. Or use a test light or meter to check for power on the glow plug circuit.

Glow plug burn

It sounds like the timer is not turning off the glow plugs as is should. At least not consistantly. You may want to cycle them several times and verify they do turn off every time.

2004 chevy 2500 hd deisel, wont start, canged fuel filter about 3 months ago, started today and ran for about 10 seconds then shut off. Haven t been able to start it since??

2 items that will put you back on the road. The glow plug controller When you turn the key on do you hear it. Its on the left rear of the engine above the rocker cover to the left of the turbo charger the glow plus is a assistant to aid in starting, There are two type of controller its either a rely or a solid state, Cycle the key it should come on for 2 seconds. cycle the key again. then start it,if it start get a glow plug control.now if it doesnt start are you willing to use either(its called instant start) use the one for diesel. did it start and stay running. if it stays running glow plug control is needed. Now if it didnt stay running and shuts right of youll need to replace the cam sensor, the cam sensor is located in the right side of timing cover behind the water pump pulley. They are plaque with damage. inspect the cam sensor and the connector for damages, If the camsensor rattles its defective. This cam sensor are failing left and right oh by the way carry an extra one the are common failures

The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Number 1 is usually at the 5 o'clock position on the cap and the distributor turns clockwise. Hope this helps.

Glow plugs stay and wont shut off

Your problem sounds like the glow plug relay is faulty. It sees to be stuck in the closed position. It is mounted on the fuse board.
