99 Jeep grand cherokee...interior lights, door locks, pwr windows

All of a sudden one day the interior lights stayed on and the power windows would not work. The interior lights eventually go off but takes a really long time (so long I havent timed it yet). Since I purchased the jeep 6 years ago the back left passenger window wouldnt operate, now all the windows dont work. The door locks dont work either they were only operational if you barely opened the door and sqeezed your hand inside they would work but if you opened the door all the way, they would not. If you can help with any of the these problems I would appreciate it.

    Chryslertech,

Thank you for you help and you were right. I took off rubber boot and sure enough there was one wire that was severed. As soon as fixed the wire my windows worked again. My door locks work again too but they only work if the door is shut (unlock and lock) if the door is ajared ( only takes a few inches) they only unlock and dont lock. You have any idea about that one?

The interior light problem.....I pulled the fuse for the interior light, checked it out, put it back in and the interior lights went back to normal (dont know why but they work now...lol)

    Again thanks,

The wires that go into the doors has probably broken from opening and closing the doors. They run though a rubber boot where the hinges are. Check all the doors wires. This is a common problem and i have fix many jeeps with these problems.

Power windows stopped working and dome lights stay on. Power locks work only with the "clicker" but not on driver door

Look under the hood fuse no. 12 should be for power windows. Or maybe something like a bad ground wire in drivers door harness.

The interior lights in my 2000 Ford F250 will not turn off. How can I get the lights to turn off?

Just to get the interior lights off to save your battery, you could pull the fuse. Refer to the service manual to determine the proper fuse.

To fix the problem, i would suspect one of the door switches is faulty.

After turning the truck off and pulling out the key the interior lights wont go off the dash board lights go out but not the over head lights we have checked everything on the light panel to make sure that...

If you truck has a convenience timer for the lights that may be the problem. When you exit the truck do your lights normally stay on and then slowly dim or go out? There will be a relay like unit plugged into the fuse panel marked light timer or something like that. Remove it and see, the interior lights should now probably not work at all. Just replace it with a new one or from a salvage yard.

I had this same problem but no sunroof on mine. there is a bundle of wires that goes into the door and if the power wire breaks and the power window lockout was pushed when it happens no windows work and the dome lights stay on on mine it happened on the drivers side it was an easy fix i took the door panel off and unpluged the harnes and pulled it through the inside of the jeep and spliced the wire back together and it has been working since.

Window, interior lights, car alarm and fuse keep on burning out

you have a short circuit or burned out wires somewhere, could be anywhere.
Try disconnecting the alarm, taking the bulb out of the interior lights, and putting in the fuse, if it blows again you know that the alarm or interior lights are not at fault, if it stays good replace the bulb and if it blows theres your faulty circuit, if it stays good then the windows are at fault.

On a 2005 sebring convertible-the interior lights stay on. They eventually turn off, but only after a long period of time with the engine turned off.

There is an interior light delay module. It is made to leave the lights on for a period of time after you close the door and with the ignition off. If it is an extremely long time, you may have to replace that module. YOu really didn't indicate how long it stays on. Anything one minute or under should be acceptable.

Hope this helps.
