I av recently bought a BMW 515i 2001, but the speedometer and odemeter are not working, niether are the speakers. I also want findout which fuse is for what, I don't have a fuse diagram. where can I get a fuse diagram for all the fuse boxes from.
You could also try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. My 328i had a similar problem and every now and then I would have to disconnect and reconnect the battery to get the speedometer and odometer working again.

Re: speedometer and odemeter not working
More then likely it is the speed sensor located in the rear axel it may just need to be removed and cleaned or could be bad.could also be a broken gear in the speedo itself .get a chilton or bently repair manual from a parts store or book store for help with the fuses and more

I would replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) at the transmission 1st, also who advised the PCM (computer) was bad? a Jag dealer? I think they are guessing on that, computers rarely fail, maybe 2% of the time if that.
hello there, i have and bmw 3 series 325ia progressive 2009, and with bmw its a matter of luck to have your car well, now have you kept in touch with the bmw department where you bought it ? if you do, and they dont help you, you can send an email to the bmw of germany complaining about your problems, you have to put every single detail, since when you bought ( year, number of series etc,) and they will contact the bmw from where you bought, and im sure they will respect you and if you have look, they could even give discounts on cars. hope i helped you, good look!
a speed sensor will prevent the trans from shifting if the odemeter isn't working because if the speed sensor is bad and the odemeter and speedometer isn't working the trans has no ideal what gear to be in
It's not the fuse. You need to jump start the diagnostic cable. First you need a battery of 9v and short the + and - terminal to the diagnostic cable. Then you will see smoke. After that it should work fine.
