How do I remove the handle in door panel? I'm trying to remove the door because my window fell off the track, it doesn't have power windows so I have to manually roll them up and down.

1- remove the window crank
2- remove any screws from the door panel; sometimes they are hidden by a plastic cap. look inside the elbow rest cavity; remove any screws you see.
3- insert a flat plastic or wooden tool in the shape of (roughly) a scraper, between the door panel and door and start prying the clips which hold the panel to the sheet metal. get as close to the clips as possible with the tool, as that will be the easiest way. there are about 8 of these clips on an average door. when all the clips have come loose of the sheet metal, lift the panel straight up to remove it. you will find a metal rod attached to the inside of your handle; unfasten it and remove the panel completely. that handle looks like it is part of the panel and cannot be removed separately.

How to replace driver side window

first remove the interior panel making sure to remove all retaining screws and clips.do not force the panel at any time.if it does not want to come off easily there is something holding it in place.if you have a manual window you must remove the contol handle first.if it is electric you must undo all plugs.you must perform this task carefully without any hard pulling.lift the panel up and away from the door.for the next task you may have to put the handle on temporarily to lift the window to access the screws of which there could be a combination of 2-4 depending on your model.when the screws are in the right place for access ,remove them, carefully lower glassand let it rest on the bottom of the door.on the upper part of the door you will have 2 stops that will have to be removed.you can know remove the old glass and replace it,making sure that all screws line up on the same marks as the original.secure all fasteners.put back the stops and secure in same place as original.now test to see that everything works properly.leave the window in the down positoinand put the panel back on making sure that all retainer clips line up,give the panel a slight tap all the way around to make sure the clips are secure.if the window is electric connect all plugs before doing this step.put back all retaining screwsand test the window once again to make sure that everything is well aligned.congratulations you did it.

Rear lift door on my 2004 Denali Yukon (SWB)will not stay up. Both lift rods seemed to have failed simultaneously. Can they be fixed or must they be replaced?

They need to be changed. Buy 2 new gas springs, support the gate, and pop off clips holding them on. Install new ones with clips provided and remove support. I just did this on my Focus a couple of months ago. Easy fix.

Over heating

The thermostat will be under an elbow shaped (90 degree) short metal fixing connected to the engine block. The other end will have a rubber hose connected to it. the metel fixing should have 2 or 3 bolts holding it to the block. Undo these and the thermostat is underneath. Lift it out and put it in a container. Pour boiling water on it and see if it makes a loud 'Pop' if it doesn't then you will need a new one.

Window off track

Looking at the opened door from the inside remove the philips screw near the upper hinge. Pry the speaker grill off with a thin blade putty knife, starting at the bottom left and work to the right. Remove speaker screws and the three screws in the recessed plastic spaces behind. Remove the square covers behind the handle and in the arm rest. Remove the 2 philips screws exposed. Start to pry from the top hinge side between the plastic door panel and the metal door. Work your way around the door until plastic clips release. Once the bottom of the panel and sides are free, lift the panel up and off the door being careful not to pull wiring and door handle mechanism loose. Unplug the as much of the wiring as you can and support the panel so as to not stretch the wiring. Pop the plastic retaining clip on the door handle connecting rod and lift the rod out of the handle. Slowly peel back the vinyl/rubber door cover stuck to the metal door. The window is held in the lower track with two clips that are bolted to the track. Unbolt by raising or lowering the window and using a 10MM socket on the nuts to loosen. Remove the window seal along trhe bottom of the window opening by prying straight up. You can then remove the window and re-epoxy in the lower clips and reassemble window in reverse order.

Need help with fixing power window

I'm pretty sure, that is sold as a regulator unit only. And it's not cheap. Sometimes it's cheaper at a glass place than the dealer.

Electric window cable solution

My drivers side quit working. I took the door/window assembly apart and found that a small plastic clip had worn/broken. I modified it to hold the cable securely. The problem I had was knowing how the cables routed in the door and window assembly to put it back together. I found an online picture of a new one and routed my cables per the photo. It has not given me problems since. Time invested, about 3 hours. Cost was $0. If you buy a new one, cost is about $80 (online) and time would be about 2 hours. If you have the $$, buy a new one.

Drivers power window is off track how hard is it to fix and is there anywhere i can find a diagram before i open it up

As far as I know you can not put the window back on the track.
I had my window lift system break on the passenger side. I had to replace the entire motor and regulator system. It is really simple once you get the door panel off, which is held on by 3 screws - all of which are hidden, one behind the window and door switch.
Anyway, there are 2 plastic clips that connect the window to the lift, they are very fragil and once broken the window will fall down into the door. I was told by 2 different auto shops that you can not get "only the clips", and have to replace the entire system.
Hope this helps.
