Question about 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser
REady to replace front speakers in my 1997 Landcruiser - do I need to remove the door panels? If so, what's the best way to do it without doing any damage?
Yes you need to remove the door panel and here is the instructions via TIS (Toyota info system)
1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Door inside handle bezel
(c) Armrest panel base upper
(d) Courtesy light
(e) Lower frame bracket garnish
2. REMOVE DOOR TRIM
(a) Remove the 3 screws from the door trim.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the clip and remove the trim
by pulling all of the trim up.
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) Remove the 11 screws and armrest base from the door
(d) Remove the inner weatherstrip from the door trim.
(e) Remove the 8 screws and door pocket from the door trim.
3. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Door belt moulding
Pry out the clip from the edge of the panel, and remove the
(b) Door weatherstrip
Do not pull strongly on the weatherstrip as it may tear.
(c) Door inside handle
(d) Door lock control relay
(e) Service hole cover
BODY − FRONT DOOR
Do not block the trim clip sealing with the tape.
(f) Outside rear view mirror
(g) Door glass run
(h) Rear lower frame
Adjust the equalizer arm up to down and tighten if where dimensions
A and B, as shown are equal.
(i) Door glass
(j) Window regulator
Torque: 5.0 N·m (50 kgf·cm, 43 in.·lbf)
Apply MP grease to the sliding surface and gears of the window
Do not apply grease to the spring.
(k) Locking and opening control link
(l) Door lock
Apply adhesive to the 3 screws.
Part No.08833−00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
Torque:5.0 N·m (50 kgf·cm, 43 in.·lbf)
BODY − FRONT DOOR
At the time of reassembly, apply MP grease to the sliding surface
of the door lock.
(m) Door outside handle
(n) Door lock cylinder
(o) Door speak
