If you have a socket you are willing to destroy, Find a socket that is as close to the size of the lug nut, but not bigger. Whack it on with a hammer, use a socket wrench (with enough leverage) to remove the lug. Locking nut: Find a socket that is about the same size as the lock nut, follow steps above. **This only works with the star shaped lock nuts and the ones that "key" goes into.

My back wheel is locked on my Peugeot zest

If you mean it is stuck with all the lug nuts off, then just take a short 2x4 and tap (hit harder) on the tire. If you mean with locking lug nuts..you will have to break them and replace the studs with new one (you will have to buy new lug nuts also) Auto parts stores carry most, they can order ones they do not carry.

I cant get my lug nuts off i lost the locked key

Most of the lock nuts are made of normal steel so get a socket that will "just" not fit and drive it on the nut well . Talk with a tyre shop as they use this process on a regular basis to remove tyres for people who have your problem. Use a bar or rattle gun and the nut will come off . Replace all the lock nuts with units that you can get a lock nut adaptor for

I had a flat tire and someone put the wrong size tire on my car which caused the srews for the lug nuts to break off now i cant put my tire on is the car a total now

No...absolutely not. However....it is more likely that the lugs were not tightened in the first place that caused the lugs to break. Wrong size tire will not do that. Furthermore...its a pretty simple fix. Jack up the wheel....pull off the caliper bracket and rotor will slide right off. Then you have a hub in front of you with all of the broken studs facing you. Take a hammer...smack out the studs from the hub. They are splined in there....one good hit can smack them out. Call your local NAPA or Auto Zone...give them your vehicle info and tell them you need all of the lug studs and lug nuts for on side of the vehicle. They should have them in stock. The rest is just reversing your removal procedure. Turn the wheel out...smack them in till the flat base of the stud is flush with the back of the hub. put rotor and caliper back on....and then the tire....tighten the lug nuts! You are good to go. Probably a $20 repair. Caliper bolts may be very tight....they use lock tight in the factory. You should get ahold of a good 1/2" breaker bar

Cant take the wheel off

Spray the base of the lug nuts liberally with penetrating lubricant and let it sit overnight. Break the nuts loose with a lug wrench or a breaker bar -do not jack the car up yet. Break the nuts loose while all 4 tires are on the ground with the full weight of the car on them. Jack the car up once they are loosened to remove the wheel. To reinstall the wheel, snug down the nuts with wheel off the ground, then drop the car on down completely and tighten the nuts to factory ratings

Wheel nuts on back wheel of 06 ford focus stripped.

Hi Ray,

I put in some time at an auto salvage yard. Aluminum wheels were big sellers and not something we wanted to damage.

When the lug nuts needed some persuading, we got out the high impact 12 pt deep sockets.

First try we used the correct size.

If they were stripped, one size smaller. We hammer them on to the lug and use a breaker bar with a pipe extension.

The only real problems we had were getting the lug nuts out of the sockets.

Good luck and best regards,
Mike

Wheel lock nut & bolt stripped...how can i fix this ??

YES YOU CAN BUY NEW LUG NUTS AND KEYS AT ANY AUTO PARTS STORE. THE ONLY PROBLEM I CAN SEE IS GETTING THE OLD LUG OFF. AS FAR AS THAT GOES, JUST BE AS CAREFUL AS POSSIBLE NOT TO STRIP IT OUT ANY MORE THAN IT ALREADY IS.

Rounded-off lug nuts

The auto parts stores cary a special kit for removing these wear eye protection and if you have air tools it will make it much easier. don't use sockets not rated for air tools (they break and will hurt you)
