Question about 1989 Pontiac Firebird
My body ran it out of gas and clogged the fuel filter well he let the car sit for about 5 months tell he had time to change the filter so got that done and now it wont start well if you put some starter fluid in it it will run for maybe a minute just long enough to burn the starter fluid if you touch the gas pedal it dies instantly lol their is fuel in the fuel rails i checked not sure what else to do short of dropping the tank any suggestions would be much aprishiated thank you for your time
Check fuel pump relay and see if it is clicking ,if so you will have to replace the fuel pump. When you run out o gas and your car has some miles on it the pump runs dry ,this will cause the motor to burn up. p.s your will have to remove the muffler to replace the pump.
