Man,I just bought a 96 chrysler lhs(salvage title) and we drove it home...Had no keypad. My girl and I got out and she left her purse...I opened the door and that car started honking and everything...Alarm wouldnt cut off so,What i did was go to the driver's door,Put the DRIVING KEY IN THE LOCK and locked and unlocked the door...Then,the alarm went off.Try that and if it doesnt work...Try to use those buttons.

Horn randomly honks while key is not present

Some alarm systems use the horn to confirm engagement/disengagement. To randomly work I would suspect an adjustment in the sensitivity of the alarm system or a fault occurring in the system.

I have a 2008 chrysler 300 and I installed an alarm system. I connected the factory horn to the alarm using a relay. I installed a relay under the hood and got the power from the battery the problem is...

you have either a blown fuse or the factory wire harness isnt connected to horn first check fuse owners manual will have location and description of fuses if ok retrace your steps when you hooked horn to new alarm you disconnected wire at horn or you cut the wire to access horn wiring

hope this helps

The horn honks when I reconnect the battery

Hi,
If the horn only honked once it may be a symptom of your car alarm being set off after power has been re-applied. If the horn stays on after you reconnect the battery you have either a stuck horn button on your steering wheel or a stuck horn relay. Or it could be the alarm sounding the horn but that usually that occurs in a series of horn blasts (rather than continuous) and the car indicators usually flash in sync with the alarm sounding.
If the horn is stuck on in a continuous blast ie not sounding on and then off and then on etc etc, disconnect one the battery cables then pull the fuse that feeds the horn or pull off one of the removable spade electrical connectors from one of the 2 terminals on the horn itself. Usually the fuse box is either under the dashboard on the drivers side or could be under the hood. Consult your user manual for your car for fuse and horn locations.
If the horn is stuck you need to visit a qualified auto electrician, or perhaps you have a friend who knows his way around auto electrics?
Cheers,

Alarm system wont disengage

Disconnect the battery.
Check the wiring (especially under the dash on drivers side fire wall) for shorts, disconnections, or loose or open circuits.
If no wiring problems are evident re-connect the battery.
If the alarm immediately starts resounding then you may have a problem with the security (box) itself that may have to be replaced.

Horn beeps as if in an alarm mode

My 4Runner did the same thing. What I did was just put a new battery in hook it up and let it honk. Put the key in the ignition and start it and it should stop. It is in alarm mode.

Can't lock the drivers door because horn will start to honk when ever it wants...

It sounds like you have a short circuit in the steering wheel horn pad. You can have someone unplug your horn until you can have it fixed. That is if you don't need your horn. This is a totally temperary fix. Because of the airbag in the steering wheel, you should bring it to a qualified mechanic. Sorry
