2001 Audi A6 Seat overheated!

I was driving yesterday and suddenly had an OVERWHELMING smell of burning plastic in the car. Seems the passenger seat warmer overheated and my have melted the control dial at the dash too! To my knowledge, the warmer wasn't even on when this started. Parked the car for 6 hours (32 F that night), came back and the seat was still hot! Can I remove a fuse or something? Is there anything else that I should be worried about besides the toxic burning plastic fumes? I can live w/o the seat warmer (too many miles and too bad of an economy to worry about fixing that; besides the driver side works fine!)

There should be plug for the heated seat most likley under it or on the drivers side of passenger seat. This should fix your problem, if it doesn't that means the short is in the dial in the dash. There should be a seperate fuse for each seat in the fuse box. If unplugging the seat doesn't help come back and i will figure out which fuse is the right one and where your fuse box is.

There is short in the seat motor, or in one of the connections in the seat. You'd have to remove the seat and dissemble to locate the short with a volt meter / continuity tester.

Im having problems with my audi a6 turbo Quattro, it is smoking out of the passenger side tail pipe and you can smell a burning smell

If its blue smoke then your valve stem seals are worn and that is allowing oil to enter the cylinders and burning with the gas.

Audi A6 rear seat problem

The rear seat pulls out easily.  Grab the front of the seat with fingers under seat on driver side and pull up hard.  do the same on the passenger side and it will unclip.  Then you can move the seat around to get to the buckle.  Install by inserting rear end in first and lineing up the metal tabs w/ the female plastic inserts in the floor and push down hard until it snaps into place.

Difference between Audi A6 1.8t engine and 1.8 engine

It makes a big difference in acceleration. When the turbo spools up you will feel it in the seat of your pants. The turbo force feeds the engine air. More air means the engine can burn more fuel and more fuel means more POWER!!
