I had the same problem with my 06 trailblazer. I have a Bose 6 disc cd changer in mine. I went to a website and paid to have a mechanic tell me the answer ( He said there is an update for the radio that will require going to the dealer to do. First he said to disconnect the fuse to the radio for a while because it may reset it. He actually showed me what the update looked like and what it should cost to do ( I think around $50). My cd stated "initializing" after a cd was playing and I hit a bump in the road on a cold morning. In the update it said that you shouldn"t use cd's with labels/stickers on them (usually on burned cds). After seeing this I realized I had one in my cd changer and thought this could be the problem. I didn"t feel like paying to have it fixed unless absolutely necessary so I took the cd player out of the trailblazer myself. After taking the top of the player off I finally realized that the label on the cd had stuck to the cd above it and jammed the cd. Using a small screwdriver I pushed the cd back in line with the other ones and reinstalled the radio. cd ejected(threw it out the window) and fortunately have never had a problem again.

Turn the radio off and disconnect the battery. This will reset the radio and cd player, NOTE:' MAKE SURE THE RADIO IS OFF OR YOUR GOING TO BE PROMPT TO ENTER A CODE TO REACTIVATE THE RADIO. Good luck and keep me posted.

My 2014 mustang 6 player cd is displaying "initializing" will not accept CDs. What is wrong?

Just a thought to try. Turn all systems in the car off. Totally disengage both battery cables (+ and -). Reconnect the _ cable first, then the positive. Try the player again. Reconnecting the battery resets all auto computer systems to thrie default stages. These vehicles today have several computers in them and there is certainly a processor in the entertainment system.

Cd player wont accept cds

There is nothing you can do to repair this, you must remove the deck and send it out for repair at a factory approved repair station.

CD player wont play and says "initializing"

This is common problem with CD players. Try to clean the Lens first by using CD cleaner. If same issue will happen after cleaning. You need to bring the unit to an electrician and have it opened and have the Lens adjusted.

The same thing happened to me when my 05 colorado was new. If you play homemade cds, that have the old paper labels, they get stuck in the player. sometimes if you take the player aprt and get the cds out it will work again. But I have seen them get ruined from this also and have to be replaced.

Envoy 2004 cd player

I had same problem with a 2005 Envoy in Jan '09. I took it to the ex-GM dealer. He said he'd try. The unit would only play using radio.
Mechanic took unit out of dash, and top off of unit. Ejected CD bu moving the eject mechanism. Replaced top and unit.
Works and plays cds. Cost $25.00 And i tipped the mechanic $10.00 for his knowledge.
