  1. Remove the steering knuckle assembly from the vehicle, as described earlier in this section.
  2. For 1991 vehicles, remove the 3 dust shield fasteners and separate the shield from the assembly.
  3. If equipped, remove the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) wheel speed sensor from the knuckle.
  4. Assemble wheel bearing removing tool SA9159S or equivalent using the hub driver, hub driver screw, bridge retainer and bridge. Install the tool to the knuckle and secure the assembly in a vise using the bridge as the vise contact point.
  5. Hold the hub driver with a wrench and tighten the hub driver screw to remove the hub. If the inner bearing race is pulled out with the hub, remove the race with a bearing race remover. The service tool can be used by assembling the inner race puller, 2 bridge retainer plates, 2 bolts and 2 flat washers.
  6. Inspect the hub at the bearing location for pitting, scoring or wear, and replace if necessary.
  7. Remove the assembly from the vise and remove the wheel hub removal tools.
  8. Remove the bearing retainer snapring.
  9. Position the knuckle in a shop press on the knuckle support tube, and press the bearing from the knuckle with a small driver.
  10. Inspect the knuckle bore for pitting, scoring, wear or corrosion. If damage cannot be easily cleaned with light sanding, the knuckle must be replaced.

How do you change the headlight bulb of a 1993 saturn sl?

Raise the hood and lean forward, look at the back of the headlight assembly. To remove bulbs from the assembly they are turned 30 degrees and pulled straight back, unplug the wires. Do not touch the new bulb glass, hold them by the base. If you are using a lot of force you are turning them the wrong way. Buy correct new bulbs and bear in mind they look the same and fit in the same hole but the bulbs fitting the left and right side of the assembly are different.

How do I remove the wheel bearing on a 2000 Saturn SL1? I have removed everything except pulling the housing which holds the bearing.

I believe on these cars you have to replace the entire hub, not just the bearing. I had a problem with mine and I went to a junk yard and bought a used wheel with the hub still attached, fixed it right up.

How to remove front wheel hub 1996 saturn

You have to remove the wheel, and take off the brake caliper, and bracket. You then have to unbolt the steering arm balljoint, and the lower control arm balljoint. You will have to unbolt the strut also from the the hub assembly. I used a three jaw puller to push the cv axle out of the middle of the hub, then u will have hub in hand. the center of the hub has to be removed by using a press to push it out, and if you r changing the wheel bearing u will have to press that out too. Clean hub up really well, and u will have to use press to reinstall the new bearing, and the center of the hub. If u do not have access to press, take the hub to dealer service department, and they can do it for u. You will then have to put it all back together is reverse order.

Engine removal on 1998 saturn sl

I'm sure you already pulled the wheel, caliper, disc brake, and wheel hub.
So now all you have to do is pull on the drive shaft for the driver side, it's not hard as long as you pull it straight.
As for the passenger side, it is actually in 2 parts, there is a bracket/bearing assembly towards the middle of the drive shaft, if you take all 3 bolts out of the bracket you could pull both shafts at the same time using a small pry bar between the transmission and drive shaft and having an assistant pull the drive shaft out.

Hope this helps
