This is a common problem on Dodge trucks. The noise is the sound of a small plastic gear that is stripped. The only solution is to replace the lock actuator.

My 2003 dodge durango keeps overheating , i just had new radiator put in and it started overheating again but now it is overheating with a very loud screeching noise like a belt sound what could be ca

as for noise will have to inspect under hood, could be fan or belt or pulley ,water pump .these are some things it could...My suggestion for overheating is replace thermostat. If your car has electric cooling fan then it may not be working..turn defrost on and if fan kicks on then fan motor is good..Now this does not mean that fan is working properly because fan is controlled by heat sensor switch that kicks fan on when motor reaches heat range......Things i would have checked....hope this information helps and good luck and Please rate my post...

2000 neon power lock problem

You need to take off the door panel, and replace the latch assembly which should come with the actuator. If the actuator comes seperatly, you can just replace it for cheaper.

Dodge Durango Automatic Door Lock problems

if you have a factory alarm, or an after market alarm, this will click in sometimes if there is a problem with the alarm and cause the locks to click open and closed... you are better off just disconnecting the alarm sometimes tho this will disable the power locks, so try taking it to a show that does nothing but alarms and such, and have them disconect the door lock feature on the alarm that way you can still use the power door locks... hope this helps you out....

Noisy door locks

Hi my name is Allen!

The sound you are hearing is a built-in solenoid inside of the door latch itself, the part to replace will be the door latch or all latches that are making the noise.
