Ac compressor won't kick on

Ok.... 91 chevy 1500 pickup. When I turn the ac on the ac display flashes (never seen that before) and the compressor wont kick on. Freon is good, checked for voltage at the switch on the accumulator, no voltage. ran 12volts to the dark green wire on that switch, compressor kicks on ac is ice cold. where do we go from here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I got a 08 Chevy Impala LT and AC charged after changing radiator and condensor. THey filled it with freon but couldnt check cause compressor wouldnt engage...flashing AC light when depressing the AC button. They said its cause it is too cold out. I dont want to leave it unconfirmed working. Can I Create a Work Around to the Ambient Air Temp Sensor to get the Compressor to engage? P.S. IT is 30 degrees here

Just had the same issue and posted. Just found the solution is the control module in the dash. Went to the junk yard since new is expensive on these units. Plugged new unit in, was able to charge a/c now blows cold as ice.

Without a manifold set to check pressures, the only thing to check is the blend door on the heater to see if it is stuck on heat.

Ac works but when compressor cycles, it wont come back on until i rev engine to 4500 to 5000 rpm's and compressor kicks back on until it cycles again. i have to repeat reving engine every time com

you need to check the pressure of the system if the system is a little low on freon it will cycle more also if the cooling fan is not working the pressure will raise and also shut off

Compressor clicks 2000 chevy silverado 1500 5.3L

First thing is have the AC charge checked by a shop, if that is OK then the AC compressor low side pressure switch may be defective or the compressor relay is defective.

The air on my 1998 chevy suburban blows but it doesn't get cold. I put free-on in it. It only took a little. The compressor will turn manually & will not kick on. fuse ok. electricity in harness ok....

Probably the electric clutch of the compressor is not working. This is the part that uses the power generated from the drive belt to drive the compressor. Normally if this is working, you would hear a sound in the engine compartment once you turn on the ac. Otherwise you may have only the AC blower spinning. If they check out OK, the thermostat may not be working. Your AC will not engage because it may be getting the wrong signal thermostat.

you can buy a 4x4 actuator upgrade wiring kit from GM this will allow you to use the one big plug system (plastic actuator) the hardest part is routing one wire (I think brown) up to the floor shifter
