I have a 1992 Mercury cougar and the passneger side window wont go up or down, unless assisted. I can hear the window motor trying but barely moves even with help. What could be the problem, I was thinking the motor is fine but the regulator is bad. Am I wrong can some one help and if I am right where would I buy such a part?

All the windows are on the same fuse, if the other windows are working fine, it's not a fuse issue. I susppect the motor or the window regulator. With your ear close to the door panel, press the window switch up and down, if you hear the motor and grinding noises then the window regulator needs to be replaced, if you don't hear anything then the motor is bad OR no power is getting to the motor. either way you will have to take the door panel off and to fix. If able pull the door skin off and clean the connections on the motor for the window if you cant get to it do what I do in my mustang ...give the door a few good whacks up towards the hinge side of door in the middle from top to bottom
