Car starts for 2-10 seconds then dies.

My car will start for 2-10 seconds then dies. Brought it in to a very small but honest shop, they have narrowed it down to to the Security Wiring around the Cylinder. From what I have read, there is a way to bypass this, or remove the security system all together. Thoughts, ideas....?

All of my dash light come one and go off after a few seconds (normal, as they have always done).

SOURCE: electronic chip in key

As far as bypassing the securtiy chip, we can't tell you that one as it would assist any user on here to steal your car (or others).
When you turn the key to attempt to start it do the dash lights dim or even go out ?

SOURCE: 2000 buick lesabre shuts down while driving

Similar problem with 1997 Buick. Intermittently the car would quit. The problem was corrosion on the battery terminals. A new battery solved the problem.

Exact same problem that I had on mine. The typical resistor trick was useless. Here is the only thing that saved it from the junkyard: http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass

2003 HONDA ELEMENT DIES WHILE DRIVING

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Maybe the thieves or the repair shop damaged/loosened something. I would start the car and start wiggling/moving wires and connections to try to narrow down where the problem is. Start at the alternator connections, both at the alternator and where the thick wire connects, probably at the power distribution box but it may go straight to the battery; don't recall on that car.

Starts but won't stay running

Turn off all your accesories and turn the key forward, but dont start it. You should hear the pump kick on for 2-3 seconds. Prime the system a few times then start it. This will narrow your diagnosis

When i start the car it will start but takes a couple seconds longer what is this

To be honest, it could be many things. It may need a tune up. New plugs/coils, wires, coil pack. It may be the fuel system. It could be a faulty coolant temperature sensor or intake sensor. You may have a leaking fuel injector. Also, it may be a map sensor. Your best bet is to test everything that you can and try to narrow the posibilities down. Even your ignition switch may be going bad.

Just replaced the Battery and Alternator, Fuel pump is barely a year old. I'm still having problems starting the car. I have no frayed wires or cables. The car starts and keeps running for 5 seconds, then...

You need to have the codes read to find out witch code is stored,it will help narrow the problem down,it could be a number of things, look at the ignition module.

Car turns over for a minute then dies

Long list of reasons. Fuel pump, bad coil, bad wires and plug, bad sensors, bad computer, short related to computer or any sensor, bad cat if clogged, bad crankshaft sensor, bad fuel pressure, etc, etc. Without narrowing it down some nobody will be able to tell you what it likely is. I recommend testing for spark and listen for the fuel pump hum for a few seconds when you turn the key to On position (not starting). That could narrow down a lot.

The truck starts up for a few seconds then dies?my truck is 1989 isuzu trooper ,the weather is very cold right now , is this a fuel pressure problem?

It actually could be a number of things. I need to ask you more questions to narrow my prognosis down. You mentioned the weather being cold, lately. How cold? Freezing? When was your last tune up and do you eventually get the car started after trying for a while? If you do how does it run?

Engine stalls while driving. Fuel deprivation?

I am having the exact same problem with my VW Touareg @60,000 miles. Two weeks ago and again today it sputters and stalls shortly after starting. I brought it into the shop and they could not reproduce the problem and said it was fine. Also, they had no ideas when I describes the problem. Anyone know what it going on? I am out of warranty.
