Our maintenance required light on the dash board is continually on now and there's 106,000miles on our car. The Honda dealer in town said that it's the timing belt, water pump service maintenance and it's...

yes. you can go some place else and get it done cheaper. the dealer charges by the hourly rate that the book says the job takes to do. if the belt breaks you could damage the engine...

Looking into buying a used 2003 honda odyssey with just over 100,000 miles. what maintence is required? i heard timing belt should be replaced. is this true and how much am i looking at?

For a 2003 used Honda odyssey, the following should be required:-

1. Replace the timing belt. (repair estimates at
2. Drain the whole oil out of the engine and transmission
3. Replace the brake pads
4. Most of all run a diagnosis scan on the vehicle to detect any other possible maintenance that will be required.

Good luck and a good buy.

Take care.

I don't know how to reset the maintenance light. Can you let me know how to do that. I've done all the maintenance to it and just need the light to shut off. Thanks a lot for your time and efforts, David...

I ran into the same issue. Here's how to fix it.

While the car is off, push in on the odometer reset button and turn on the car.
Continue pushing in the odometer button until the light goes off.
Release the button after the light goes off (usually about 3-5 seconds)

2003 Honda Oddyssey - PO325 Knock Sensor

If The engine in your van is a 3.5L, the knock sensor is under the upper intake manifold. This has to be removed in order to access the sensor on top of the engine block. The job requires an upper intake gasket set and about 1.5 hours to do; if you are handy with tools. For those who aren't; better off leaving this one to the professionals.
