Probably your fuel pump. If its EFI remove the cap from the shreader valve on the fuel rail and turn the key to the on position. Listen to see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on. Leave the key on and press the shreader vlave. if fuel doesn't come out hard and strong then either it's the pump (most likely) or the fuel pump relay might be bad. That relay can be changed with other relays of the same part number in the fuse console under the hood. Try switching it out and see if the car starts. If all that checks out good then the next step I would take is to look at the cam / crank sensor.
Check the fuel pump, when you turn the key on you should hear a low hum from the fuel tank for one second, if not you need a new fuel pump or the fuel pump circuit is defective due to wiring issues or a defective relay.
Turn the key to the on (not run) position and listen tosee if you could hear the fuel pump turn on (prime) for a few seconds. If not, check the fuel pump fuse and if its good, its probably a bad fuel pump.
How did it die? Did it feel like you were out of gas?
CHECK FOR SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS AND TURN IGNITION SWITCH ON POSITION LISTEN SEE DO YOU HEAR FUEL PUMP TURN ON 3 SECONDS IF NOT CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY. IF ALL IS GOOD.HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED FOR FAULTY PCM - FAULTY IGNITION MODULE - FAULT IN THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM.SCAN FOR FUEL PUMP AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FAULT.REASON YOU NEED VECHICLE SCANNED IT WILL HELP LOCATE PROBLEM QUICKER TO KEEP FROM BUYING A LOT OF NEW PARTS YOU DONT NEED.
It sounds like the fuel pump try banging on the fuel tank with a block of wood while someone else attempts to start it. if it starts after a couple hits its the pump if still nothing check the relay under the hood
