Question about 2000 Audi A8

Indicators not working

My indicators have stopped working althought they flash normally when the hazard button is pressed. I guess this means that a fuse has blown but i do not have manual for the car and can't find the fusebox!!

Can you help please?

Cheers

Thank you for the swift reply.

The indicators do not come on at all when the indicator stalks are used. However they do click and flask when the hazards are used.

The main problem is I cant seem to find the fuse box - its buried in the engine bay by the firewall and seems very inaccessible to someone who is an amateur with a spanner!

Do the signals light up, but just don't flash? If that's the case, Turn your hazard flashers on & listen for clicking sound from flasher/relay ,usually under dash, at or near, fuse panel. Once you locate that one, the other flasher/relay for your signals should be in same area, and probably looks same too. If the #s written on them are the same, try swapping them to try & see if signals now work.If they do, replace the bad one, but put new one in for signals. If they don't don't come on at all, you'll have to start pulling fuses for a look & see if burnt out. If you have a 12volt test light you can simply touch on little metal tabs at ends of fuses without pulling out, to test. If power on both sides, fuse is good. If you use test light, make sure key is on & signal is on while testing for bad fuse. Power on one side, but not the other, pull it & have a look.

Nothing up under dash on drivers side. Perhaps a panel needs to be removed to access it.No removable cover on end of dash? I'll keep digging to see if i can find exact location of fuse panel, to make it easier.

Open drivers door and see if there isn't a removable panel on end of dash. Underside of cover should have diagram of what all fuses are for.

1999 oldsmobile aurora side marker light flash on and off when the car is turned off

Power is appliedat all times through the 20A HZRD/ STOP LPS fuse in the right rear junction block. The ORG wire connects to the hazard flasher and the BRN output wire connects to the A5 terminal of the TURN/HAZARD switch assembly. When the HAZARD switch is engaged, power is applied to the front and rear turn signals and the left and right turn indicators in the instrument cluster, causing them to flash. Obviously an open fuse, a defective flasher, a defective HAZARD switch, or a defective TURN/HAZARD switch assembly will prevent the lamps from flashing. If the turn signals operate normally, they are not the problem.

Indicator Problem

when you noticed the indicator being on solid, but flashing with the hazards, are you inside your car? I mean have you gotten out of your car to check if the bulbs are working when the indicator thrown and when the hazards are on. A hard on indicator usually means that you have a bulb burnt out. The hazards will still flash as normal when inside the car even if a bulb is burnt out because the hazards do not run via the Electronic Flasher Module. The EFM is what detects a burnt out bulb

Hazard lights flash by themselves, doors won't stay locked (unlock by themselves) key fob won't work.

I has a similar problem and I just took the battery out of my remote. I think there is a problem/ short in the remote. It's as if the button is being pressed when it is not. I will use my spare one in the mean time. It was driving me crazy becuase I was driving long distance at the time and when I removed the battery it stopped. I hope this works for you!

Hi A J Mae,
Do you mean the traffic indicators,( turn signals) or do you mean the dash board indicator lamps? If it's the dash warning lamp indicators, they work on a fail safe system, when you turn the ignition on before the start position, all the lights will come on untill start up and ten they will go off automatically within a second or two....if they stay on with the engine runnig you have a problem we have not covered here.
That will be your hazard warning switch, the one that will be flashing on the dash with a triangle showing on it....If that doesn't do it it'll be something to do with the anti theft device...get out of the car lock all the doors and then press the button on the key fob
